I might start working on this in the near future, but I wanted your opinion first guys. Would you require me to get the Sword of Kings or not? Let's consider that item manipulation is a piece of cake. Also, keep in mind that when I get to that point, I will probably have enough Multi Bottle Rockets and Psi and whatever to finish the game without Poo ever needing to Bash at all. Would you still want to see me get that sword of kings?

I would LOVE to see you get the Sword of Kings. I have only ever found it ONCE in all of the years I have played the game. ;.; It is one of the best weapons in the game. The only better weapons really, are Ness' Ultimate Weapon and the Multi Bottle Rockets. So, I say YES!

I say no. If this is a minimalist run, I want to see it done as fast as possible. (and I want a minimalist run, at least for first.)

I say go for it if luck manipulation isn't at all a problem.

Can it be dropped off a summoned super during the boss fight?

It can be found on ANY Starman Super, Summoned into the battle or not. But facing one right off in a battle is preferable.

I think the question was whether the former's drop could be manipulated (easily enough).

I liked Bob A's answer. This run is going to be a minimalist run. Therefore, I won't be getting the sword of kings if I don't need to use it.

I say screw it and just get it anyways, even if you don't use it. I figure, if it's an exceptionally rare drop, even with no use, it'd add to the "HOLY SHIT!" factor for a lot of fans who never have seen it happen in their own gaming experiences, and it also keeps with the minimalist effect too. :) Mr. Kelly R. So basically, if you happen to fight a Starman Super, try to get the sword, to add a "holy shit" effect. Plus, it'll be some extra damage for Poo, and might help for the next bosses. (Unless Flash Omega kills everything) If you don't fight a Starman Super, don't get it.

Indeed. It will be almost impossible not to fight one though. The "Holy Shit!!" factor will be excellent. As I mentioned before, I only ever got the sword once. So. Get it if you want to. :3

Well, technically, if you were going for a minimist run in an RPG, that would mean low level without getting any weapon upgrades or equipment. Just do a any%, if you think the SoKs will speed it up go for it, if you think it won't don't bother. I think it will, but I've been wrong before.

In all the times I've played the game I've never gotten the Gutsy Bat or the Sword of Kings. Seeing you grab either or them (or both) would add to my enjoyment by far.

Isn't the Gutsy bat basically the Casey Bat? I know the Casey Bat gives a SMAAAASH!! attack each time it hits. But it's hit rate is only about 5-10% of the time, so it won't be useful unless you can manipulate that.

In TAS manipulating luck is a given, so getting the Swords of Kings isn't much of a "holy shit" effect. You'll have to try a lot harder in TAS to get such an effect.

You don't get the Gutsy Bat until the very last area past the point of no return(just using that as a reference). With the ability to manipulate accuracy, going through the rest of the game with the Casey Bat once you get it in Deep Darkness looks to be the better deal.

Isn't it possible to make the Casey Bat have 100% accuracy by choosing it in the Item menu instead of choosing Attack?

Hmm, I just noticed, though it's probably obvious to you guys. =P While re-playing the game, I got a pizza from the Skate Punk in Onett. Perhaps getting the pizza there instead of in Belch's lair in the movie could be a quicker alternative? Just a small suggestion.

Actually yes, we already know about this. We wrote about it in the "Possible Improvements" section of our Authors Comments. We wrote this: Onett: Get a pizza from a Skate Punk rather than from a Mostly Bad Fly later. Saves ~10-15 seconds.

Ah, gotcha. I forgot you noticed the skate punk thing and I thought you put in calling Mach Pizza instead. It's been a long week. Seriously. >_O

You mean the .torrent file? You need to use a BitTorrent client to fetch the full file. When it's done, you'll have a ~475 MB file when complete.
