This run is looking really great. I don't think there's any doubt in anyone's mind that this "test run" should be published, emulator limitations and annoying inventory screen be damned.

Jabu-Jabu: * When falling down to B1, did you try slashing your sword for a faster descent? I haven't verified it myself, but since the floor is "soft," I reasoned that you should be able to do it without taking damage. * Nice boomerang room and bombchu blast. * Boomerang throw and sidehop in the room before the boss has some room for improvement, I think. Move as soon as the boomerang has left your hand and begin walking up the ramp if at all possible. * Barinade: (1) It looks like one of the hits during the last stage of the battle could have been executed much earlier than you did. When the boss' body is blue, it's vulnerable and you should be able to stun it with your boomerang. (2) Was the boss vulnerable when you did the missed jumpslash? If so, you should have done it when the boss was invulnerable (that is, partially in the ground) or "getting up" so that the jumpslash wouldn't have cost you extra time. * Nice taking advantage of the explosion cutscene when opening the cavern to prevent losing any more health. There aren't any damage-related tricks in Dodongo's, so you should be fine until the Great Fairy heals you. When doing the seamwalk on DM Trail, backwalk as much as you can so that the falling rocks don't hit you. Due to my limited time, I've only been able to watch the .m64 once. (Just fast-forwarding it from the beginning requires nearly a half-hour now.) So I could be mistaken in some of the "corrections" I wrote above. What do you think, AKA?

I hit the boss when I could, and tried at different frames, hes only vulnerable after a certain amount of time. The missed jumpslash actually was faster than stabbing because I would have had to stabbed 5 times I believe, rather than 2 and a jumpslash(which was faster than running up and crouching as stabbing) Thanks for the support!

I believe the first thing he did was too see if the run would not desynch. I don't think you'd want any user interaction during the movie especially considering how many problems we've been having with save-states...

Seemed fine Guano I could'nt understand the first room in Jabu, The bomerang room was significantly faster. Guano you haven't got enough health for DC because you need to release a bombchu above Links head to open up the boss floor. I look forward to how you'll creatively bomb Dondongos eyes.

Dodongo Cavern Complete! Save state at beginning of DC. The last 2 bombs are going to blow up the boulders right? Then in bomb bowling, they will supply me with them correct? Here ya go! http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?action=download&ufid=C9DA72B96EDFEF38

Wow, that was fast. O_O Yeah, you only need two more bombchus, then you'll do bombchu bowling to get the upgraded bomb bag.

Always desynchs when you want to climb the first ladder. Instead you're walking directly into the lava. Same settings and Read-Only is toggled...any advice?

It seems like the savestates Guano makes don't work for everyone ... What I would suggest is that everyone keep their own savestates. That's what I do. I know that sometimes it doesn't work, but so far I've done it 4 times and it worked all 4 times using my special "technique". What I do, is that I pause the game (using the Pause key on the keyboard), then I make my savestate, and then I unpause the game. I also do that only in places where there is no input required, like the transition between two places. Pause, save, unpause, when no input is required. This seems to work for me. Hope that helped!

Are you using the right rom version ? 1.0. I can't think of the exact rom id, but I fairly certain a different version would have a slightly different RND generator which will desync if a slightly different thing happens as oposed to what originally happened. I'm probally worng but thats just a sugestion but make sure its read only and every setting exactly matches the original movie file. Also did Guano remember to uncheck raw data. I haven't watched DC yet so I'll discover for myself later.

Can someone convert this to .avi? I get bad desynch at pause screens. I think I may just have the wrong version though, or the rom was ripped bad. What version are you using?

I agree with the .AVI request, too many people are having desynch. Please someone make an .AVI The rom used was "Legend of Zelda, The - Ocarina of Time (U) (V1.0) [!]"

There's no need to keep requesting AVIs. They've been coming on a semi-regular basis, but they take time to make.

Considering how long N64 savestates take to save and load, that's quite a lot.

What is the NES record for most re-records? Also, is there a need for a shield as an adult? Or does the shield need to be part of something later on?

You need the shield for Shadow Early, and it will also save time to get it because then you can use crouch stabs.

For me, it only takes a while to save or load if I haven't used the savestate in a while. Some kind of caching thing, I guess.

I'm fairly comfident that the Adult adventure will take more than 50,000 re-records since there is more high precision tricks + health issues + randomized elements (poe boost) = soul destroying amount of re-records. Guano, have you got an USB converter for quick spinning?

I just re-did the boss battle, I managed to throw the bomb 20 frames faster and crouch stab 8 frames faster. Ill post up once I'm an Adult.
