That sounds complicated because of the route planning. What about doing a more straightforward series?

The only problem I see is the large difference between 1/2 and 3/4/5/6, in terms of glitching, gameplay style, and length. The games to run should be similar.

You don't need to do all the crazy glitches in at megaman 1 and 2 in a megaman 1-6 run, since the games can be completed a significant amount of time faster than megaman 3-6. The time that will count will be the final time (the time where the last game is completed), so there should be no problem for megaman 1 and 2.

Another possibility is SMB 1, 2(jap) and 3 together with, say, gradius. All scroll rightwards, making it easier to coordinate movement.

Maha, gradius is an auto scroller, you'd be pressed against the right side of the screen the entire time.

Gradius combo! I'm actually quite satisfied how this turned out so far, as far as entertaining appearance is concerned. I had a desync in the erupting mountain scene. I made the AVI from two different FCMs that were recorded simultaneously. For some reason, they differ by 1 frame at around that point. (Most likely a bug in my dual-game input engine.) Note: These two games have exact opposite functions of the A and B buttons. This allows to shoot at different time in each movie. Shooting in Gradius selects a powerup in Life Force, and vice versa. This makes somewhat difficult to try to collect better weapons. You can only refrain from shooting for so long. Because of the limited number of moving maneuvers in these games, I think this pair is especially well-suited for a bigame movie. It is easy to understand by watching the AVI. The movies really act in sync.

Nah, I think it's more likely FCEU itself not handling the input across multiple instances too well. Same thing happens to me sometimes: I start to play the same movie in 2 FCEUs at once, then after a few presses of the frame advance, or a few pauses/unpauses, one of the FCEU instances is suddenly one frame behind. o_O

Haha, very nice movie Bisqwit! There were places in it that I found very entertaining. A little sad you won't be continuing it... Anyway, nice job! :)

I'd probably restart from the beginning if I'm going to continue doing it, because I watched the first stage Baxter's MM5 movie and Angerfists latest MM4, and I realized I could've used damage much better, but right now someone's waiting for me to finish something, I might want to do a MM4/MM5 combo in the near future, but right now I've got something else to do, and not too much free time. But I'm glad someone liked it. :)

Such places might exist, but in Gradius you can at least maneuver by taking different amount speed ugprades in each game. Or at extreme cases, by suiciding in one of the games.

the most interesting movie would be vertical autoscroller & horisontal autoscroller. And it would not have trouble with two corridors, mentioned before. Anyways, ANY successful bigame movie is interesting!

In terms of concept, any bigame movie is interesting, but in terms of watching the movie, not everything is interesting. Part of the problem is trying to figure out what is interesting to watch.

That was awesome, Bisqwit. That was the first Gradius TAS I've ever seen that was actually worth watching! I'm particularly impressed that you were able to dodge all of the tiny volcanic debree in Gradius at the same time as navigating through the much larger obstacles in Life Force. I hope someone does a full run of this (and obsoletes the existing Gradius run). Nicely done!

Good progress so far. Unfortunately, it appears to desync in Mega Man 5 about halfway through. At least for me it does.

There is no difference between the movie files up to that point (Mega Man 4.fcm and Mega Man 5.fcm, the movies that I record for each game respectively), but even then, it desyncs when I play Mega Man 5 with the Mega Man 4 movie. Also, an "A" press has been moved several frames forward even though I at all times kept track of that they would be in sync. Even stranger is that this is during a screentransition in Mega Man 5, if I can locate the problem, some hex-editing might be able to fix it, even though I'm probably going to be forced to start over. When I think about it, all I have to do is to make Mega Man 4 work with the Mega Man 5 movie, and continue from there with the Mega Man 5 movie only.
