I'm tied with JXQ with frames at the end. I was 2 frames faster but lost those later due to randomness. I really do hate Ceres...

1) Because the game clock and frame count are not perfectly correlated 2) Slightly random fadeout time depending on how you enter doors 3) Samus doesn't have any fun or fast abilities yet 4) It's boring to look at (very dark) 5) It's boring to listen to, for the first half anyway At least, this is why I hate it :)

That bomb Tech saves 23 frames! Everybody say YAY. Here's two movies that I used to compair. Well, in a real movie it won't be as much of a frame gain as you would Mockball in that area if you were only planting one. I planted the bomb on the movie that didn't plant them both at the same frame as the one that did, so it would be an equal comparison. I might make two movies that start on the ground at the edge of the platform just to see how many frames I would really get.

I know this is kind of late but does the grappling beam-route really save time when getting the Sping Ball (As opposed to freezing an enemy and jumping through the floor/cealing)? I think the latter looks faster but then you have to get into the menu and enable Ice Beam. EDIT: I just read that you've almost completed the game which obviously means that this won't matter anyway. Good work man!

When looking only at the Spring Ball area, it is faster to use the freezing in game-time by a lot, and they are very close to even in real-time (due to the extra door sequence). However, I don't have the Ice Beam when I get to this point, because collecting it early takes more time than it does to kill Crocomire normally vs. plasma beam. So overall, the route is faster, just not in the Spring Ball area.

Just wondering, your not going to use the Muder Beam Glitch are you? From what I have seen so far, great run.

The Murder Beam is about 15 seconds slower in real-time. So, no.

The "bomb tech" saves at most 3-5 frames, I'm not sure the gain would be that big though, since I didn't bother to test anything else, it might be possible to save more than that though, if another technique is found.

Even if it only saves 1 frame I'd be happy. It looks cooler than the current method and is new.

I'll release the first real WIP at the first missles which should be shortly if I can figure out why I keep loosing a frame in this one area. Hopefully I can come up with a lot more stuff like that bomb tech. There isn't much room for innovation at this early in the run, though.

I'm loosing a frame on the turf that is above the hole the leads to the bomb torizo. Somehow JXQ gets slightly more arm pumping without falling off the rough slopes than I, so I'm landing one frame later. It could be that I shot the door leading to the room too early, but that doesn't make sense.
