I made a game, it's available here: http://nsrt.edgeemu.com/maze-master/ http://nach.tasvideos.org/maze-master/ Play in web browser. You can view the source too and try to find glitches if you want. The score represents how fast you beat each level, so the higher total score you get in the end, the faster you did it. My record so far is 12200, which means I did it spending 280 time units in levels (each time unit is almost a second). Here's how my Bombsweeper clone works: Use the arrow keys to manouver, enter when a big message covers the screen, D if you want to Die on purpose. You can walk as long as there is no wall in your way, if there is, you're allowed to push the wall as long as it won't bump into another one. However walls along the perimeter can't be pushed. Your objective is to reach the exit in each level. I don't think Konqueror supports key events, so you can't use that browser, otherwise I think it should work. Also asside from speed, how many of you can even beat the game let alone fast? ;) Post scores and level you managed to get up to.

It's a nice game, but can you add the score & level when Game Over appears? BTW, I got around 7500...

I guess I could, I'll do that a bit later.

Level 23, scored 5090 ... I got stuck on Level 22 for too long and wasted most of my lives there.

I was in the early 20s when i died, i suspect it was probably 22 but I was more focused on trying to finish it and failing.
YtterbiJum, on SMB3: I've tried 20+ times and it always desyncs there. Unless, of course, Genisto meant to die, use a star on the map screen, go in a pipe, and jump around till time runs out.

Thanks, I have yet another request, if it's posible. Can you make the character to resign if you have screwed up? I usually move fast & sometimes have to wait until time's up to start again... BTW, I really liked your game, but it would be wonderful to have puzzles with diferent size also...

The first post says: "D if you want to Die on purpose. " Isn't that what you are looking for?

What Truncated said. Regarding different size, I'm already working on Maze Master 2 which has larger puzzles, and I think I'm going to add locked doors and keys too.

2980 on level 15. Although I feel that I should say that I actually knew how to solve it, I just hit the wrong key. But, yeah.... I kept getting stuck on level 13. 'S interesting, to say the least.

That would be cool :). BTW, how many different maps are there? I've seen that sometimes the puzzles just changes position, like if looked into a mirror... Sometimes I figure the solution until this happens... Also, you can cheat a little bit if you know that you won't find the solution on time. Just take a snap & wait all you need until you figure it up & when you start again, the puzzle will be the same but mostly mirrored :P If you could pause time somehow, you would only be worried with not screwing up the puzzle, since there's no takeback, which I find good, since you could try lots of moves & then undo them if it didn't worked...

Cool game, I was sure level 7 was impossible, but then I realized that maybe my browser wasn't playing the game properly. It always moved the thing 2 spots when I pressed the arrow once. I thought that was how the game was supposed to be played lol. Anyways it was very hard like that (try it just any time you press a button press it twice). I'll try it again with a different browser, it should be alot easier now, I was like damn how did people get to level 22.
g,o,p,i=1e4,a[10001];main(x){for(;p?g=g/x*p+a[p]*i+2*!o: 53^(printf("%.4d",o+g/i),p=i,o=g%i);a[p--]=g%x)x=p*2-1;}

I just realized: this is the same game as sokoban except that instead of your goal being to get blocks to specific spots, it is to get the character to a certain spot(s). Oops not exactly the same since you cannot occupy spaces walls occupy.
g,o,p,i=1e4,a[10001];main(x){for(;p?g=g/x*p+a[p]*i+2*!o: 53^(printf("%.4d",o+g/i),p=i,o=g%i);a[p--]=g%x)x=p*2-1;}

Nice game. I got Score: 2740 Level: 13 (on my first try, at 2am) Request for features: - Add "moves" and "pushes" counters. - Make lives, moves, pushes, level and score always visible (even on those big messages, like time up or Beat the level). This way, I could see how good I did some level. - Implement some way to remember which levels I've already played, so I don't need to play them again. (like a level select screen showing all 50 levels, but only those I played + 1 will be available for playing). - If you want high-scores, maybe implement server-side scores. Note this will be very easy to submit fake scores. [EDIT: three more wishes] - Make better graphics for those "big messages". - Maybe, at those big messages, "space" should also work (in addition to "enter"). Add also a little notice: "Press enter to continue" below or above those messages. - Some documentation and description of that game would be welcome. (Help page) Anyway, as I said before, it is a nice game. I've bookmarked it.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll see if I can get around to some of your requests. BTW, I'm working on a version two, with larger levels, and possibly added stuff besides walls.

Tried it 4 or 5 times, and got to level 35 But it was a close call one of the earlier levels... It's a pretty good game, I hope I'll get to the end one day ^^
