Did you load the state by going to File > Load State From?

No, I didn't, I tried doing that now and it worked :) Thanks for telling me about it, I didn't even know you could load a savestate by doing that. Well, you learn something new everyday.

Thanks for the help guys, I got it to work. Excellent job as usual CtrlAltDestroy. I love how you get so close to the enemies before shooting them, it makes it look like you are ramming into them. Also, is there a boss fight in level 6? You get to the end and the screen blips then you beat the level. It says you shot down the target but I never saw it. Great job nonetheless. Must...see...more!!

I guess since you two went through all the trouble of resurrecting the thread, I'll give you another level to watch... http://www.samus.co.uk/cad/1943movie.fcm http://www.samus.co.uk/cad/1943movie.fcq Completes level 9. I'll admit that there are some cool looking parts in this, my favorite being where 4 planes crash into me at once.

Amazing... simply amazing. Excellent job as usual CtrlAltDestroy. I loved the 4 plane "kamikaze" and how you killed one plane with the butt of your plane at one time. It was going off the bottom of the screen and you just bumped it and it died. Great job. I hope you do finish this eventually, it would be awesome to watch the whole thing.

Jeez, I forgot how fun this game was. Levels 10 and 11 now done. You just gotta love the last shot at the end of 11. I cracked up when I watched the replay, it looks just perfect. Edit: This is weird. On the last level, it shows Destruction rate: 91% (if I can remember correctly.) Althouh, obviously, I did kill all the big green planes. Maybe I got a point taken off for killing that one that didn't finish dying on the screen? I'll try replaying it and see if it changes anything.

Just watched this one today, great movie! Just from the strange English like 'Sink a ship!' it seems like it would have come out in Japan first and was translated later. I was wondering if the Japanese version of this game is framed as the enemy being the US, because it seems to me like it wouldn't be very popular in Japan if it were sold over there as the enemy being Japan.

I did 3 more levels. Dang, this is getting hard. There's alomst no time to be artistic anymore, just have to concentrate on killing the obnoxious amounts of planes. 10 levels left...

I had almost forgot about this completely... Any chance of you posting a WIP for us? I sure hope you have the patience to finish this. :)

Well, I just beat level 17 (movie not uploaded). 7 more to go. And I found something stupid. All the levels are unique up until level 16. After level 16, you defeat the boss which you were assigned to destroy in the opening cutscene. Then it says "Congratulaitons, you won the war!!" followed by a black screen "Sorry, that was enemy decoy. Try again!" at which point you're sent to mission 17 which is a direct repeat of level 2. :( Mission 18 is a repeat of level 3, and Mission 19 is a repeat of some other level which I forgot. I was highly disappointed at this, I was hoping for all of the levels to be unique. But I guess that's too much to expect from a NES game. :(

Now this is a game that'll probably end up being boring.. but I mean this or 1942... to see a run where it's 100% clear for each level? That would be incredible, especially considering how difficult it is to do irl. Nice as a concept demo or technical exercise... not great for a speedrun... but if it looks flashy enough... who knows? I wouldn't bet on getting a TAS of this game published. There was a submission a long time ago, and as you can see, it was 75 minutes long.
