Is somebody still doing this? Oh and we might need some help of the TAS runners at entering the Shadowtemple without the Noctrune. Maybe someone of you got an idea.

I'm still working on the testrun slowly. I believe that I'm getting more used to everything, so my progress has been better than before, but I don't know whether I'll have more or less time to work on this once college resumes. I got through the Deku tree, shamelessly taking all of Acryte's work and adding nothing myself. Hopefully when I do a real run on this (which will hopefully come at some point), I'll know enough to be adding in my own tiny optimizing tricks. For the testrun, I sometimes just do really unoptimized things if I'm trying to just figure out what exactly I'm supposed to do. And it desynced on me at Hyrule field after talking to the owl. If it didn't do that, I would have been talking to the owl the second time, after getting the egg. It's a pity that jumping into talking Malon doesn't cross out the owl conversation. I'm thinking that I should be able to get onto the water platform in the deku tree without waiting in a final run. Although it's very close. And I'll work on manipulating the wallclimbing bug (sorry, the name escapes me at the moment) to hit me up to the platform next time. http://fast.filespace.org/CoolBumpty/OoT_Testrun_06-1-4.zip Oh, and on the desync, I was able to kill one of the skeletons, but its friend got me. =(

Hi, Well you got as far as the store to buy the Deku shield for my viewing, but you only had 38 rupees and so obviously the movie didn't get much past that :p Is that a problem on my end? Could I be using the wrong rom version (Legend of Zelda, The - Ocarina of Time (U) (V1.0) [!])? If anyone else has this problem please let me know how to fix it so the movie views to completion, thanks!

Hello Did you turn off Raw data for the input plugin? That seems to cause a lot of problems for everyone. Other than that, well, I use the Jabo 1.6 plugin for graphics. It seems that you're using the right rom, unless there's something wrong with either my rom or yours. I'll look through the movie again and see if anything comes up. If none of those plugin things fix it, could you look and see whether I miss the two rupees in the first grassy area before going in the tunnel, rupees in the grass right before the sword, the rupees from slashing bushes by the sword (don't know if you'd call them bushes, but well, I'm just thinking of LttP), or if they're in the last patch of grass right before I hop over the water blocks backwards. Then if there's an issue with it, I could at least keep that in mind for the future, even if I can't find what's wrong with it. Edit: I looked through it again, and it got to Hyrule Field again, but for some reason the graphics plugin kept giving me messages about errors. I'm not sure what's causing that. . . . I'll look into it more when I get the chance. Edit2: It seems that my attempt to get up the Gerudo Valley seam has failed. I think that the only decent shot would be to make a Bisqwitbot for that area, but I wouldn't be one to do that, since I have very little skill in any programming.

It does not desynch for me until Hyrule field after you've talked to the owl. I finally got no desynch after I've choosen the RSP plugin CoolBumpty uses: Hacktarux/Azimer hle rsp plugin.

Once I got a desync from using a bad save state, as in one I had made when I was using the wrong setting.

5BD1FE107BF8106B2AB6650ABECD54D6 Maybe it's different from everyone else's, and I could see how that could cause a lot of problems. Well, I got in the castle walls and to the area right before Zelda, but it desynced again. Apparently the emulator, when it was playing it back, thought that the start screen took about a frame or two longer to register movement than it did. I think from now on I'm going to be consciously less than frame perfect, since this is just a test run, and having to redo large portions because of these desyncs is getting to be annoying. It hasn't been too bad in terms of what I've had to redo so far, but I know that it would only get worse. Anyway, I'll post up another wip of the testrun once I get a decent bit more into the run. I originally said I wouldn't post any testrun bits until I got to Zelda, and I'm not even there and I've posted 3. =P

Wowzers... I wonder how many more places in the game those physics can be manipulated?

Hello. just registered to the forums. I'm guessing people from SDA know me but I'm here to find crap and potentially (once I get some crap together) do a TAS of this game. spoony - well, anywhere there is a crate/block/armos statue/acute angle. The one's that aren't acute angles require offsets to work though. bumty - just so you know, I wouldn't base your adult or child route off the 4:57, especially in a TAS... so I was wondering what your current route is, and what kinds of tricks you plan on investigating in order to reshuffle all the temples/items around. thanks ;) have you found any cool tricks w/ your testing so far? I'd love to hear whatever you've got. __________ Here's an idea for getting into death mountain crater early so you can get to the deathmountain seam, sou you can get to the magic GF fountain w/out bombs... If in Goron city, you can jump off the high platform and (on the right side I have experianced sticking into the wall a little but being kicked out) stradle the wall all the way into darunia's room, you can trace the edge and make your way so that you can jump off of there and into the load for death mountain crater. Or you can try to find a way to get past that statue (probably utilizing that spear...idk) If you do this and so spirit early and use the prize upgrade glitch, you can get farore's early, and make the whole route insanely optimal... (granted we can find a way into the farore's wind one too) I think since this is a TAS that this should definitely be investigated further, as it would be a major breakthrough.

Great pleasure having you here Acryte ^_^ I think Bumpty's run is merely a test run if Im not mistaken so you are alone for this project. When do you expect to solve your tiny issues with the controller etc so you can begin working on this? Im extremely excited to hear you will be working on this :) P.S. Once you get used to working with Muppen, things will go a lot easier for you.

I updated my previous post too... um, not sure, as soon as I can find a freaking controller adapter I can start thinking about all this stuff. Key part first is exploration and testing of all critical areas.

yeah, how come nintendo loves to make such retarted controllers? (n64, gamecube to a lesser extent, revolution to the MAX)
Do not try to bend the spoon, that's impossible. Instead only try to realize the truth. What Truth? There is nospoon. Then you will see it is not the spoon that changes, it is only yourself

What about fixing the emulation playback glitches when opening a menu? Are we just going to ignore that now, despite the fact that it could potentially cause a major desynch? If it doesn't desynch and just takes a long time to open, I can live with it (esp if it's a test run) :).

You can turn on that copy framebuffer thing to fix it, but then everybody will have to turn it on always, and that makes the emulation really slow. But for some reason I'm more worried about those white screens being gray!

wait, your telling me that it's not just because my current rom is crap? the start menu is f'ed up on everybody's because the emus can't display it right yet? lame. Secondly, if anyone could possibly upload their rom and link me off an email or a pm it'd be greatly appreciated since my current rom cannot get past kid since the stones clump up at the altar and the door of time doesn't open... and it's in spanish >_<. thanks

Does Nitsuja or whatever the name is (sorry) plan on programming in CC? Because I think that in a TAS CC is beastly and I have already drawn out a CC route for child that is optimal, and secondly, if you use the fishing pond swordless link glitch, can you possibly get the sword back by reequipping it or by warping through time? I have not done this glitch ever thogh I do know of it. I'm just unsure of the details because I think that I can skip all of spirit temple w/ it. Thanks.

Oh yeah, that. No, I certainly won't be attempting to implement that. (1) because it's tampering with the game itself (from the system's point of view) (and could easily be considered cheating) and (2) because I don't think the emulator is accurate enough to model the effects of CC correctly.
