I'll just point out that there's a game called "Elevator Action: Old & New" for the GBA. If you select "Old" it's just this same game as this, but if you select "New" it's a game with the same basic components as this (lots of illegally unsafe elevators and doors to steal things from), but tweaked to be a lot more action-packed and less repetive (with a decent number of unique levels and a definite ending). I think it would make a much more interesting run than this. BTW, I thought you did have to enter the red doors in this game, or it didn't really end the level or didn't count as beating the level.

To be honest, I never actually played Galaga up to stage 255, once I got to stage 200-something, I just thought "what the crap is going on?" and stopped playing. ;) But 255 stages is quite a lot too. I second a Galaga run up to crash time!

I'll soon take a look at the GB elevator action but here is the WIP of the first stage on NES. Right here. What do you think? Isn't it bit more entertaining?

Looks good! I see you made use of the elevator glitch quite a lot. It was also good that you killed some thugs on the way down. How will you continue this run, Guybrush? I mean how many more levels will you do before considering this run finished?

Here's the next level. It's the same building but now the red door are in different places and there are more enemies and elevators move differently. (b-b-bu-but it's PINK) I think that the second level is more entertaining (although, there is more waiting) because I kill more enemies. I'm not sure when to stop this movie, any advice? PS. I could not find the Elev. Action old&new so I'll just stick with this:) Besides, I don't like working with VBA.

I agree, level 2 was more entertaining (even though it was pink ;) ), this time this game actually got some action in it, especially around the end, when you had to kill several thugs to continue. The run looked good, the only little thing I noticed was that maybe you could have killed the thug on floor 18 as he's exiting the door. But this wouldn't save any time, so it's no big deal, I just thought it would look a little cooler. And about how many more levels you should play, I'm wondering, in what ways do the levels change as you proceed? I mean what are the differences between one level and another? As I see it, the level-designs have to loop after a certain number of levels, so I think you should play all levels until you come to a level that looks like one of the levels you've played before. In other words, play all different stagedesigns once. Unless there are like 300 different levels in this game, that could become a problem ;)

OK, I have to question something that I think you're doing some unnecessary waiting on. After leaving the red door at frame 2860 and 8850, you go right to the escalator down and then go left and wait a while for the elevator to come back up. Wouldn't it be a lot faster to go left from the red door onto the top of the elevator, and glitch into the inside of the elevator when it starts going down so you don't have to wait to get into it? (Maybe it just postpones the waiting for a different elevator, though...) Also, wouldn't it save on some walking time to be further left when the elevator gets to the ground floor at the end of the first level?

Here's the next floor. This was already a bit tricky. The thugs just shoot on sight, but this means more entertainment! In floors 14 and 9 I had to stay a couple frames in the red door or I would had to be some Matrix guy to dodge those bullets:)

I would have never guessed that it'll happen, but I actually like this movie. (At least the first 1 and half stages. After that, it starts getting boring.) Not the least because when I played it ~15 years ago, I couldn't even clear the first building. You also manage to use some rather unorthodox techniques playing with the elevators. What do you need to visit the red doors for, btw? I feel like you could use some better luck manipulation though. And, a way to finish the game cleanly immediately after stage 1, because it starts getting bored after that, despite the enemies becoming more active.

The plot of the game is that some spy goes to a building to steal some important documents, they are behind the red doors. And I think it would be more boring to just go through the building. Bisqwit, are you suggesting that movie should end after the first level?

Unless you can do it cleanly without the movie feeling incomplete, no. I'm suggesting that you do something to prevent the movie from becoming boring after 1 and half levels.

Entering the red doors is necessary - if you skip any, the game teleports you back up to the first one you skipped when you try to end the level. Also, the enemies continue to increase in difficulty without any regard to the limits of the player, so I would think that would make it more entertaining in the later levels (if only it was possible to dodge their bullets without waiting around so much). Guybrush: One mistake I keep seeing is where you wait on top of an elevator when you could glitch inside of it. For instance, at the end of levels 3 and 4, you let the elevator hit the bottom floor before getting in it, when you could have already been in it by then. (There is actually a bug related to this that allows you to jump out of the elevator onto the bottom floor and walk around on it like a normal floor over to your car, without ending the level. It's not useful for completing levels, but if the levels are really infinite then maybe it could be done before ending the movie.)

I tried to get in those elevators, but I couldn't. The glitchs point is just too low.

No it's not; you could still get into it either right after leaving the red door, or on the floor below that. Here's an example.

Three comments: 1) I remember playing this ages ago, and there was a glitch where you could make the car at the end fly away. By fly away, I meant that sometimes the little guy would hop in his car, speed to the side of the screen, turn around, and float up a ways. I have no idea how this was done, but if anybody knows maybe it could make the movie a bit more entertaining :) 2) What exactly *does* it say on the car at the end? And why is it mirrored when the car turns around? Oh, Nintendo. 3) I think it's already been said, but the game definitely doesn't end. I vaguely recall finding a Game Genie code ages ago to start on any level, and I set it to level 99 or some crazy thing. The thugs eventually just hose you down with machinegun-like fire the second you're within range. It's disturbing!

Does anyone know what causes the bad guys to duck when they shoot at you? I suspect it's somehow randomized, but I haven't ever been able to manipulate it except accidentally/unreproduceably. If it could be manipulated at will, it would save time in the levels that are done and make higher levels of difficulty survivable. (And allow for more tricks.) About the car glitch: It sounds unlikely to me. I found a way to walk around (keeping control) on the basement floor, and a way to get shot in the head without dying, but it didn't seem to make any difference to the end sequence.
