What emulator did you use? Bizhawk 2.9.1 What was the aim of this run? To be as fast as possible
That is all.

nymx: Claiming for judging.

nymx: Replacing with improvement file from author. Also cleaned (trimmed blank inputs) up to be accurate for timing purposes.

nymx: First off...welcome to our community. You have chosen a very good game...one that I have enjoyed for many years.
I wanted to give this a fair review and watched all the way to the end... side-by-side with Suigi's WR run (https://www.speedrun.com/sm64/run/yol5kxjy). I see lots of problems.

Technical Issues

  • Routing - In comparison with the WR, your route is certainly not capable of picking up the required items to complete the category. I don't have a specific example, but if you watch your run against the WR...the route is definitely not up to par. In fact, you are still searching for your 16th star, as Suigi is ending his run.
  • Execution of mechanical movement - I've noticed that many of your techniques are not speedily performed. Comparing to Suigi, your execution is very sluggish. One particular action is when you perform your backwards jump to clip through doors and walls. Additionally, with all other techniques...you are just not as aggressive.
  • Hesitation - There are times at which you wait to perform actions. In my experience...waiting is almost always bad, especially in the case of Super Mario 64. For example, speed runners catch Bowser when he falls back from being thrown at the explosives. It would cut a lot more time if you position yourself where he lands.

Regarding our rules

  • Must beat all known records. This is not done on two fronts. For one, our last 16 star run was [849] N64 Super Mario 64 "16 stars" by SwordlessLink & Mitjitsu in 15:08.00....which you are around 6 minutes slower. Even if you had beaten it...the category for 16 stars currently existed under a "Low %" branch, which means that later submissions are using 1 Star, and eventually 0 Stars. Because of this, the low % category comes down to obtaining a key to get into the final area. Your run does this, but it doesn't beat those times.
Please don't let this be a discouragement to your efforts. This first attempt of yours will certainly pay off, as it takes time to build up to a run with satisfying optimization. I'm sure that you can eventually get there, but it will be a hard road.
Rejecting for the primary reason of optimization.

Hello lolr4v82 and welcome to TASVideos. Unfortunately your TAS is about 8 minutes slower than an SBLJless TAS which came out a year ago. Link to video Please take your time and use the tools available to you in BizHawk and use the userfiles. Go again when you've optimized all you can.

There's no excuse in double submitting. Was it probably on the submitter's internet provider or...?

It's a small mistake that does no real harm. Let's not worry too much about it.

Thank you for the notice. I didn’t really think when submitting it, as it can well be optimized, I was most likely just excited over the fact that I had made a whole TAS. I will try again, and be more precise this time. Thanks!
