NES The Jungle Book by X2poet in 20:11.84 Why is there no difficulty selection for the current publication? The default is the highest difficulty. How is it achieved?

I looked into it and I think I understand what happened here: The publication is starting from a soft reset after changing the difficulty. This wasn't mentioned in the submission text, likely wasn't picked up by the site parser at the time (the run was made on FCEU.0.98.26, and the FCM format can't be trusted to report whether or not the movie is starting from a quicksave or a reset), and was almost certainly overlooked in the original judgement, which caused it to be overlooked again when it was unrejected for Vault. This shouldn't have been published, but I can see why it was and I feel like anyone would have made the same mistake in that position. Are you planning on improving it? If so, just start from Power On and change the difficulty from the options menu. The time lost doing that won't count, in fact it will ensure that the new run is proven legitimate. In the meantime, staff will figure out what to do with the publication with this knowledge.

Thank you for your answer!I'm not sure whether there is room for improvement in the current publication. I want to try to improve it and may submit it one day in the future

Looks like all fceu movies starting from Reset were actually also starting from a savestate, containing whatever you had right before that reset. Only fixed in 2008 fceux: https://github.com/TASEmulators/fceux/commit/047808ba9331182ed66342bb205ad890716c2f18#diff-5e44925ace139e9584572724b1e642cf9edadc5a7c8df0f415283e233bbd383aL631
Warning: When making decisions, I try to collect as much data as possible before actually deciding. I try to abstract away and see the principles behind real world events and people's opinions. I try to generalize them and turn into something clear and reusable. I hate depending on unpredictable and having to make lottery guesses. Any problem can be solved by systems thinking and acting.
