This movie aims for:
  • 20 questions
  • less lines
  • very quick checking by game.
Also, my first movie. There are no rerecords due to Visual Studio 2020 creating garbage files in its' own directory. BizHawk's READMe.md is not updated. MelonDS core is no longer in experimental state, but README.md says that it is still in development, however, because there are no warnings with TAStudio, it suggests that this core is accepted. I also did not encounter any desyncs, which means this core is pretty good.

CasualPokePlayer: As demonstrated by Spikestuff, you can easily improve this movie. Submissions need to be fairly optimized, they should not be so easily improvable. Rejecting.

Brain Age without entertainment? I have doubts it will work well

Using the author's input as the solution, but correcting and adjusting it down to showcase faster speeds, not going for true optimal cause showcasing something. Link to video Fun Fact, since you didn't know. A literal dot gives the answer 7. Here's the userfile so you can check it out. Also I suggest cooling down on that mashing on the screen you have going on before the training course. Good attempt, but I personally think that Brain Age has been milked dry with the insane drawings

While I agree the other movie is entertaining, I'm not sure we should be comparing a playaround run to a simple any% run... I don't really think that's fair. The two categories optimize different things. While the playarounds are cool, they often are *really long and honestly kind of boring after the first couple of images*. A pure any% speedrun without trying to draw silly pictures will tickle a different kind of entertainment factor. That said: Spikestuff is correct, that it looks like this is not yet approaching optimal speed. My gut feeling is that I'd rather see a suboptimal run accepted, and later beaten, than to see no run at all. But I think the precedent tends to be: if the staff beat your run, they reject it out of hand and suggest coming back with a more optimized run. I'd rather the staff could give a clear "if you optimize better, we won't reject you for game choice", which I think is a bit unclear after the last message whether the game would be rejected out of hand or not.

I would say that if a movie is that easy to beat, then there's almost no excuse to accept it, as the author could just redo it. It's important to have standards, even for the first TAS of a category. Accepting a suboptimal movie has more chances to get the author satisfied than to help them improve. On the other hand, my point was mostly that I don't hink I would personaly enjoy an any% TAS of this specific game, as it's not the most fun game to begin with. To impress me, you would need an incredible amount of technicality (and not simply answer with the correct answer). I didn't vote because I didn't get to see the TAS (hard without temporary encode), I just just don't feel it's the kind of game where any% would entertain me anyways. Also, I feel like the objective is somehow too arbitrary in my liking, as "training" is not the main game in the... Game. Correct me if I'm wrong of course. Most games, when going for pure any%, have a clear goal (reaching credits), and I feel it's important when defining it, as if a single game can have multiple any%, it's kinda weird isn't it? tldr: It's not purely about game choice, it's also about category choice, as I don't think this even is any% in the first place.

Am I reading this right or is it a glitch with the new site? You made this TAS with 0 rerecords?

0/unknown rerecords. The file is correct. Author possibly made it with frame advance, turbo and rewind only.
