I'm starting a thread to keep the community updated on marathons that they can submit TASes to. As one of the site ambassadors, feel free to contact me if you'd like help with how to submit for a marathon, but feel free as well to just get out and submit on your own. TASers -do not- need to go through the TASBot team to submit TASes to marathons, but the team's resources are available if anyone wants assistance having a run shown on console instead of emulator. Many marathons now are more open to TAS runs being shown on emulator: https://gamesdonequick.com/submission-guide RPGLimitBreak's Questing for Glory is a great event for longer RPG TASes to shine, submissions are opening on August 29: https://twitter.com/Questing4Glory/status/1408934215811358724?s=20

Speed Stuff 4 Charity 8 has submissions open until August 14th https://twitter.com/SS4CMarathon/status/1411494184339394562?s=20 For UK TASers, UKSGMarathon has an Autumn event coming up with submissions open until August 20th https://oengus.io/marathon/UKSGau2021 For long TASes, Really Really Long a-Thon might be a good option! https://oengus.io/marathon/RRLAT5 There are a ton of other marathons with active submissions including some specifically for minority representation, I pulled some of these from a list on Oengus. I'll try to watch and update this thread in the future when GDQ/Frame Fatales/RPGLB put up submission dates. https://oengus.io/

Myself, dwangoAC, and several others from the TASVideos and TASBot communities will be at MAGFest next week Thursday through Sunday to hang out and present on various TAS related topics! We currently have the following events planned for the week: Panel: Reinventing Game Boy Emulation for Speedrunning and TASing - Friday Noon - 1 pm Rediscovering Pump It Up...for the Sega Genesis - Saturday 2 - 3 pm magFAST block - Saturday 4:30 - 7 pm Celebrity MAGFest Versus - Saturday 8:30 - 10:30 pm Don't forget there are always more speedrunning marathons looking for submissions! https://oengus.io/ usually has a pretty comprehensive list of marathons with speedruns open, and gaming cons like MAGFest or comic cons will often accept speedrunning related panel/guest speaker submissions!

Games done quick will be back in the summer! TAS authors can submit TASes to be commentated live at the event without need for console verification (submission rules no longer prevent the use of emulators). The TASBot team is available and willing to help with any authors who would like to have their TAS submission verified live at the event, typically possible for Game Boy and NES submissions. https://twitter.com/GamesDoneQuick/status/1504896306132619264 Additionally, the TASBot team will be at Buckeye Speedbash presenting content next weekend! TASVideos Ambassador TheAxeMan will be doing a speedrun of Soul Blazer next Saturday March 26th at 9am, and I'll be commentating my Pokemon Yellow Glitchless TAS at 9:53pm! https://horaro.org/bsb2022/schedule

I learned about this via Discord: SNES Super Stars Marathon 2022 for SNES/SFC games. Submission deadline is May 2. Per messages in the marathon's Discord server, TASes are allowed.
Current Projects: TAS: Wizards & Warriors III.

I forgot to check earlier, but submissions are currently open for Big Bad Game-A-Thon 2023. It's a marathon of bad and/or weird but ultimately interesting games. Last year they had the TAS of Barbarian showcased which was a good time. While it's usually RTA runs they'll still accept TASes if they fit the theme and spirit of the event. Hi all! https://gdqx.gamesdonequick.com is live and we have three days to pick up to three games (with a couple different categories) - any TAS runs that stand out? I'd need runs that either a commenter was willing to act as a runner and go to TwitchCon in Las Vegas or I'd need content I could learn commentary for on my own. I'm leaning towards entertaining TAS runs with commentary rather than ACE runs. Thoughts?

I streamed late last night and we managed to console verify two different Arkanoid runs but it's not clear if they're suitable for GDQx. I plan to fight some fatigue and stream more tests again today, likely ones focusing on libTAS so we have a good mix of submission types. I'm still looking for suggestions, so feel free to hop over to https://twitch.tv/dwangoAC later today if you happen to have time. We have to finish the submissions up today, although we could bleed into tomorrow if we had to. Thanks to those who have made suggestions on Discord and for the help so far, with a special shout-out to Bigbass for fast dumpscript fixes and YoshiRulz for Linux BizHawk support. Let's see what we get! :)

"AGDQ2024 will be held in Pittsburgh, PA from January 14-21, 2024! Game submissions for AGDQ will be open from Sept. 1-10" - it's on their... X feed (I feel defiled saying that) but not on their website yet. I've updated https://github.com/orgs/TASBotL3C/projects/1/views/3 with the submissions for GDQx and I'm now looking for suggestions for AGDQ 2024 content, especially from authors or commentators who might want to be there in person but including anything on the site worth showing. What's a good fit?

I haven't seen any suggestions here and the only other content we have available is currently at risk due to the slightly earlier than anticipated submissions window for AGDQ 2024 (on account of GDQx happening unbeknownst to us). We're having some success with SNES stability specifically for DKC2 but we're seeing *instability* with Super Mario World longer runs, although this doesn't yet prove anything in particular yet. We have only a few days left to finalize submissions for AGDQ 2024 and I remain open to suggestions, especially if anyone in this community is willing to travel to the event and help present. Any takers? I'll be streaming all day tomorrow trying to nail things down a bit more and we'll see how things go.

Are you looking for console verifiable material or just any sync-stable runs? Seeing that you’re having issues with SNES runs makes it difficult to know what a good game choice could be.

I'd ideally like to identify console verifiable material but GDQ does accept content that can't be verified. One option I'm considering presenting is Sniq's Super Metroid any% with a donation incentive to show 100% - we can't console verify it (we may never be able to do so no matter what) but I'm showing NES Metroid at GDQx and it might be a nice thematic continuation. Any other content ideas?

I'm thinking it would be pretty neat to see my own TAS on the big screen [5169] N64 Star Fox 64 "Expert, maximum score" by WarHippy in 50:50.42 :D I have someone willing to do live commentary for it as well. (I might also be willing to do commentary depending on travel accommodations and such.) I would also love to see [5405] Wii Super Smash Bros. Brawl "The Subspace Emissary, 100%, 1 player" by DyllonStej in 1:19:22.20 showcased at some point. It's truly an awesome run

I like both these suggestions! Unfortunately, Smash was declined last time we tried and I can't currently console verify your run at this time, although that doesn't exclude it from consideration. The fact that you're potentially willing to provide your own commentary is a plus. Would that travel apply to SGDQ events in the future as well? Sorry the timing didn't quite work out WarHippy and thanks so much for the suggestions! At the end of the day, after discussions on stream, on Discord, and self-reflection, I opted to submit Sniq's Super Metroid runs of [3653] SNES Super Metroid by Sniq in 35:58.31. [4010] SNES Super Metroid "100%" by Sniq in 1:01:47.03, and [3273] SNES Super Metroid "low%" by Sniq in 46:32.02. We talked about a *lot* of different possible runs but at the end of the day we felt it was best to limit the submission to just this for the sake of everyone in every community. We've picked these runs for their impact and the allowance to show video encodes helps a lot. Both NobodyNada and DarkXoa expressed interest in being commentators and I'm positive we can make a good showing.

Yah I’d be willing to make a trip for SGDQ.

I'm happy to say [3653] SNES Super Metroid by Sniq in 35:58.31 was accepted for AGDQ 2024! I'll be starting plans to attend with TASBot in person. You can see the run listed at https://gamesdonequick.com/submission/games-list (ignore the accidental remote runner bit and the any% category being accepted in one place but not another - I checked with staff and they confirmed I'm welcome to bring TASBot in person). This is the 10 year anniversary of events under the TASBot banner and I'm extremely happy to have such a fantastic run to show off. We'll be showing an encode for this one due to the camera fixes and I recall seeing hints of even further camera improvements so if folks are willing to help out with encodes specifically for AGDQ 2024 I'd appreciate it. Thanks in advance!

The Big Bad Game-A-Thon 2024 submission window is now open! Generally folks submit speed runs but they accept other ideas, including TASes. As long as it's a weird and/or bad game that fits the marathon's theme and follows the rules, then it'll be a good fit for the marathon.
