+ used FCEU + no warps or passes + used speed and hitbox glitches + no damage taken + aimed for speed and high score
+ Life Force is a scrolling shooter much like Gradius and Salamander. The only real difference is that every other level is shot from an overhead view.
+ The movie wasn't TOO hard to do, but some of the acrobatics required many, many tries. I think that most of us have played the game as kids and think it would be cool to see it played through acrobatically, with an aim at speed and high score.

While this movie is better than the WIP shown in said thread, braceyj's movie still has too many faults. The game also seems way too easy, which might be why the rerecord count is so low. However, there are lots of missed shots and untouched enemies, and so I don't see how this movie is anything more than just a playthrough. Unless the game picks up a lot of speed and entertainment value after the first two levels, I'm voting no.

yes it actually does, the later in the game it gets, the more hectic. there really isn't much i could do to make the first 2 levels that interesting, as they are kind of boring and slow. i assure you that if you check out some of the action in the later levels, you will be much more satisfied.

by the way, the reason the re-record count is so low is because when i make a movie, i do it all in a single sitting. even my ninja gaiden run is under 100. i dont see why having a low re-record count has anything to do with quality. i have experience in the games im playing, and play most of them all at 100% over and over until i start a run. i WANT a low rerecord count. i would rather be known for skill rather than re-records.

I'll have to disagree with you; the game quality really doesn't go anywhere. All they do is toss more enemies at you, but they don't seem to get any more complex or entertaining. I'm also 99% sure that every boss fight could have been done faster. There were lots of missed shots due to overuse of autofire, and there were lots of moments where I felt that moving in circles was becoming a bit too farmiliar. The only part of the game I liked was the very end, when you got to escape. Granted, I watched it at 200%, but it was still cool. Too bad I had to sit through 20 minutes of scrolling to get there. You could have watched a majority of this game at 200-400% and not missed a beat. Also, just because you did this in one sitting doesn't mean that you should have a low rerecord count. You should be making sure that everything you do is really precise, not just okay. A 30 minute movie should have more than just 65 rerecords, even if it was as straight forward as this. and please, feel free to use the edit button in the forums. there is no need to add a new reply every time you need to add something.

"Rerecord count: 65". I think that says it all.

This site isn't about skills. If you're after skills, you aren't likely to become a successful tool-assisted superplay movie maker to entertain people, sorry.

Why newbies never read the guidelines?

False: The fewer rerecords, the better. If you aim to minimize the number of rerecords, it'll most likely be visible in your result as sloppiness. We do favor skill-type measures such as doesn't take damage and played at hardest difficulty - these make the movie entertaining to watch. We do not care about how difficult you made it for yourself to make. Please use the best possible methods you can use to produce the best possible result. At this site, your movie will be judged the same way regardless of the methods you used to make it. Therefore you shouldn't handicap yourself.
