I have attempted a tas of this game a while back, but I put it on hiatus when I got lost after rosa was kidnapped by kain to zot tower. I didn't know how to get there. According to this review: Link to video He thinks its not possible to beat it as he spent 6 hours on the final boss. Maybe this could be the longest tas ever? I wouldn't say longest speedrun, as Baiten kaitos took 2 weeks to beat in a single segment run. But that was only because of how items evolved. This game is nonstop. If anyone wants the rom, PM me. I'll go through the dirty work again to get as far as I can. Unless I saved it in userfiles(which I doubt).. It needs to be remade anyways. This is a game where grinding is is necessary. Or the boss fights will take an eternity. One more thing, it is possible to beat the game. As a deleted video on youtube suggest. He played it at 64x speed and beat the boss in 1h30m. This amounts to 3 days straight. But he obviously didn't manipulate luck or use any kind of speed strategy. With the emulator running at 64x speed, that means menuing errors. As for the game itself, its actually pretty decent for a pirate. The boss fights(for the most part), resemble their SNES counterpart. The portraits on the charaters do as well. In battle they also match. So graphically its not that bad. You could beat titan, but that would take ages and its faster to grind instead.

Im curious, apparently the guy in that video has never played final fantasy 2/4 SNES ever before ?? ...well sheesh.. But... is the "crystal" item present for the final battle in this "bootleg" ?? Because in SNES FF 2, you cant attack zeromous at all until you use the item "crystal" If that exists in this bootleg, then is it used/required ?? if not ...then that's probably why it takes hours to beat him. But i do wonder why the fuck you only do barely 10 damage supposedly... based on that youtube video you linked... at high levels. Does this bootleg even work at all (the stats), or is the stats/level up system just broken no matter if your level 1 or 99 ?? And figure out where in the 000-7FF RAM that zeromous's HP is located, to find out if it has 65,000 like in the SNES or not... if so, than that explains the whole "takes 6 hours to beat" ...at 10 per hit.... https://finalfantasy.fandom.com/wiki/Zeromus_(Final_Fantasy_IV_2D)

The level up system is not broken. If you go to the first boss underleveled, you will be spending a lot of your potions even with critical hits. If you fight 1 enemy per battle throughout the dungeon, the boss goes down quicker. Maybe zeromus in this bootleg has a high defense stat.
