I haven't seen it but if I recall correct there was a faster run aat speedruns.org. Like in 17 minutes or faster. Therefor I should vote no, but I don't remember the exact time so I'll wait with my vote until someone can confirm it.

This movie is a lot more impressive to those who know how awful this game is. A makes your character both jump and speed up, and when you're in mid-jump, the speed up button switches to B. Very, very, very bad control scheme. Unfortunately, I had to vote "no" too. It just seems clear that no planning was involved in this run. The first level was okay, but then in the Mall and Museum levels, you kept backtracking to get items when you didn't really need to, and you also stopped to get coins a few times, when they don't really do anything. And you messed up the door game. What was that about? ^^;

You're right, I didn't plan for what was ahead a lot of the time. Some items I have to get like: the goals (hats, balloons, signs) and some weapons. Coins serve no purpose after level one (to buy items) except after getting so many it get an extra life. I think after 9 lives the game won't store a surplus number so extra lives serves no purpose either especially since I wasn't killed. Jumping on ailiens to get letters just gives assistance from Bart's family on the bosses. That might do more harm than good espcially with Marge shooting away the weapons I need to kill the boss with. The door thing was just to kill time instead of just standing there while I wait for the game to let me continue. Going for goals that are in your path without backtracking or time consumption when possible, not jumping on aliens, and skipping the carnival games would be the fastest method of completeing this game very possibly in 17 minutes like that person was talking about. If I was planning on getting the fastest time possible, I would have resisted the carnival games. I was going more for quick percision without taking damage. That museum level is pretty hard at some points even with an emulator. Considering how much time I had left, I'm not sure the authors of the game consider completeing that level in one life. I only made it because I used to own this game and there wasn't a movie posted for this one. I wish these movies were easier to find. If there is indeed a movie for this already posted somewhere, I sure would have rather watched it than do it myself. I have blisters from this game now :-( Is speedruns.org closed down? I get a "You don't have permission to access / on this server." when I try to go there. If someone wants to make a better time attack for this game, feel free. You can use my movie to see what's ahead if you want.

I'll vote yes to an updated version of this movie. You noted yourself that it wasn't necessary to call Moe or play the carnival games (I generally consider speed more important than "entertainment", but these things are debatable), and it's been noted that you stop and wait for some of those coins to fall, even though it's not necessary. There's a missed shot at the end of the first level, as well, which shouldn't be in there. Is this nitpicking? You're darn right! The goal is perfection, so don't take it personally if someone notes an imperfection. Actually, this is a pretty good run considering that it only took one night. A lot of people spend a LOT more time than that getting a movie perfect (feels like I've been working on my current speedrun since bell bottoms were in fashion... for the first time). I'm voting no, only because I'd like you to make another attempt. I played this game when it was new, and it sucked! But it's still fun to watch it beaten quickly. I can't wait to see the finished proeduct.

I played this game alot when I was a kid. I found it pretty fun actually. How ever the run was a bit sloppy. So there for I will vote NO. Also you do alot of unnecessary stuff that shoulden't be in there. Give it another try and re-make the run please. It could be ALOT better. ;)

I'll reiterate what everyone else has said, the short answer is no for this time. You have a good start, but you have much to do before this is publishable. Using what you have you should be able to figure out which goals will be easiest to get, and jump much less. I don't think you should waste any time picking up extra lives, it doesn't look that cool. I have to admit that calling Moe is pretty classic though. You already know most of what you have to do, so do it. With better planning and more precise movements, this could be very interesting.

iirc, When you call Moe it brings an alien out.

No. It calls Moe out so you can paint his shirt, giving you another mark for your goal. Just avoid him after doing so.
A hundred years from now, they will gaze upon my work and marvel at my skills but never know my name. And that will be good enough for me.
