Allow me to start by saying I'm new to the forum, thank you for all your effort in making such a wonderful emulator (you will be my go to for PS1 titles from here on), and apologies if I've broken any rules with this topic. Thank you in advance for your time and attention! I'm playing Metal Gear Solid and despite having played and made saves for Azure Dreams, Castlevania Symphony Of The Night, Suikoden and Vandal Hearts Psycho Mantis does not acknowledge these or any saves as existing. This is odd, especially as the game does acknowledge VR training, what I believe is a separate save from the main game. Video showcases what I'm hoping to happen, but doesn't. Link to video
I do challenge runs on Youtube as V339. Bizhawk helps with that sometimes. Thanks!

If you open your BizHawk folder, go into PSX and check the SaveRAM folder, you will find that separate memory cards are created for each game (based on image name). You need to rename the memory card files between the games to share progress.

How would I rename them, exactly? I understand the process to do so but what would I name them? Would I need to name them all the same thing, because if so I don't quite understand how I could do that on a Windows 7 OS.

So I'm going to think the best idea is to swap them by name as the Psycho Mantis cut scene proceeds, frame by frame?

That won't work. The memory card file is read once only when the game boots. You need to use a PSX memory card manager tool to combine save files from several bizhawk saves into one memory card. You would name the file what the file needs to be. It creates the file it needs to have. Think about it.

Solved by bundling the discs of all the games together the same as MGS disc 1/2. Sorry this was such an obvious one taking up your time, hope anyone having this issue can bring this thread up!

To add to this, if you're using MemcardRex it isn't even necessary to rename anything - the program will automatically recognise the format (I don't know about other editors). All you have to do then is transfer the saves from each file to the Metal Gear Solid file.
