Eh, drunken-rad? I've never heard of any word like that :) there's no swedish word that looks even slightly like drunken-rad, though there is a Swedish word called "rad", which means "row". maybe i'm getting your post all wrong, if so, you could ignore this part :) By the way, what's up with all this "tre-runk-i-rad?" :) I know I've never made that connection when I heard the name "Truncated". Maybe you should change your name to that! or.... maybe not. hehe :)

A long time ago in a forum far, far away... Er...when I signed up for the first time at GameFAQs, I chose the nickname "monstro city" for no real particular reason (for the slow, monstro + city = monstrosity...and yes, I do know it's not spelled the same). Then I got banned, so I chose a new name. Going with the same pattern, I went with velo city. Ban, rinse, and repeat, and you get atro city.

BTW I always thought your name meant like the dictionary, to be interupted. Surprising to hear bisqwit does after all have something to do with biscuits.

Patashu is the phonetic spelling of Patechoux (the e has an acute accent, iirc), the french word meaning 'soft pastry'. It was the name of a cat I had in my youth and I picked up on the phonetic spelling before I learned how it was really spelled. It's a nice name, so, I use it.

Wow, fascinating thread. I used to be known as the AxeMan, BattleAxe or simply Axe on the Ultimate Frisbee fields of the midwestern US. No reason in particular, just something badass everyone could call me. In fact, a lot of my teammates never learned my real name. I guess being shorter than average forced me to develop an unorthodox playing style, and I was great at making superman-style diving catches (very hardcore in Ultimate because you aren't wearing any padding.) Also, at the time, winning on the field was just as important as winning the party, where I was the MVP (but most teams are so serious now). I played on Leadbelly until tearing my ACL (main ligament holding your knee together), and since I live in a backwards country with no health care I ended up waiting a few years before getting the surgery I needed. Now I play pickup Ultimate at work every once in a while, but I am no longer known as The AxeMan in real life, so I use it as an internet alias.

Damn this is a long story. I went to a private religious high school of 100 students until I was kicked out, at which point I went to a public high school of 850. I was intimidated by being in a school with so many people I didn't know, and I didn't like sitting in the lunchroom with half the population of my hometown (an exaggeration), but I found out that there was a chess club that played in a classroom at lunch. Since there were only about 10 nerds in there, I ate my lunch with them and picked up the game of chess. I got good fast and wanted to find more opponents, so I decided to try that internet thing I had heard so much about (it was 1998). The school had internet access (we were still using 386 dummy terminals with monochrome monitors at my old school), and someone told me about Hotmail. I used Alta Vista to look for chess servers and found FICS, which wouldn't accept my free Hotmail address. (If they had I would be something different because hopper was already taken) So, I moved down the list to Chess.net instead. I needed a nickname and I figured that chess pieces hop around, so I chose hopper. It was a stupid name because only the knight hops, so I should have saved it for checkers. Anyway, that was my first nickname, and I became more and more associated with it the longer I stayed there, becoming a Guide, then an Administrator (then Senior Administrator, then Super User, etc.). From then on, anywhere I would go on the internet I seemed to be hopper.
