100% is already routed well enough. I don't know where you got that route from, since it's outdated and suboptimal. If you're interested to see how the current route looks like, I suggest watching some of the more recent RTA runs. The TAS will probably not change too many things about that route.
I have not watched those speedrun for a few months, but unless there is now a better way to catch it (or a faster route have been found), the warp from Hot Top Volcano to Haunted Woods can be pretty useful in a TAS

What if we used the warp to get the trophy in space land?? Do you think that could be faster? That would be crazy, just think about it. Think about it

I just downloaded BizHawk. I know how to use MHS and mupen64. How do I watch the speed value on BizHawk? (Step by step would be appreciated) Also, does this game work just as good on BizHawk or is mupen still recommended (lag-frame-wise)

A 2 Player Adventure TAS on Adventure Two! Player 1 uses T.T. and races for fastest time while Player 2 uses whatever he/she chooses and uses multiple missiles to blast the CPU drivers and finds the keys. Silver Coin Challenge is harder on Adventure Two because of different placements. Darkwater Beach and Icicle Pyramid beat each other up, Other two battle courses 2P is on guard duty. There is no mercy invincibility in many racing games that I know of. NASCAR games will count you out if you wreck you car. Bill Elliott's NASCAR Challenge counts you out if you spin out. NASCAR '99 counts you out if you flip (except on 2 players). NASCAR: Dirt to Daytona does not count you out no matter how badly damaged your car is. Probably the developers didn't playtest it before releasing it to the public. Only the publishers do that. Now for the characters: Pipsy and Tiptup are light Conker and Timber are medium light Diddy and T.T. are medium Bumper is medium heavy Drumstick, Banjo, and Krunch are heavy Light is fast acceleration and turning, but low maximum speed. Heavy is high maximum speed, but slow acceleration and turning. Stats are opposite from Mario Kart, except for turning which are all about the same (before Double Dash!!). Medium being average with the exception of T.T. who is the best character of all. The DS version is different as there's different minigames. The Balloon Pop and Wish Challenges are new features. Microsoft owns Banjo and Conker, Nintendo owns Diddy Kong (Because of Donkey Kong), All the other DKR characters are owned by Rare. For the ultimate challenge: enter FREEFRUIT, BYEBYEBALLOONS, TIMETOLOSE, BOGUSBANANAS, VITAMINB, and ZAPTHEZIPPERS. These codes only work on Tracks mode (except for Time Trials). Just like certain cheats only work on Single Player on GoldenEye. We could use the GoldenEye Setup Editor to beta restore the overworld. Trophy Race glitch from Hot Top Volcano to Treasure Caves, Snowball Valley, Haunted Woods, and Spacedust Alley. The longest tracks in the game are Crescent Island, Walrus Cove, and Windmill Plains. The hardest track of all is Greenwood village. At least you need 37 balloons to access Haunted Woods' Silver Coin Challenge, but you need 39 to enter Spacedust Alley. Ugh! If you can't beat it, do the Trophy Race glitches, Glitch to Wizpig, then T.T. Stomp to Star City. Why do that when you can TAS this game?

In 2.x of BizHawk, listen to the option menu music. Does it sound any different than usual?

For a new TAS, Have 2 Player Adventure with Ultimate AI as T.T. (Which translates to T.T.としての2プレーヤーアドベンチャー2ガレ恋ライバル in Japanese) Using Magic Codes JOINTVENTURE, DOUBLEVISION, and TIMETOLOSE, Have the first player go for speed, and the second player go for entertainment. Player 1 doesn't even have to go for the keys. That responsibility goes to Player 2. For the Trophy Race, both players have to race together, but don't go colliding with each other. 2 Player Adventure, Ultimate AI, Choosing the Same Character, Big Characters, Small Characters, Horn Cheat, Sound Test, Viewing Credits from the menu, the ROM Checksum, and the EPC Crash Report are features that are cosmetic, that give different ways to play, or extra menus. These are not actual cheat codes. The actual cheat codes only work on Tracks mode, with the exception of Free Balloon which is the only Adventure mode cheat there is. The others require a GameShark or Action Replay to access which include High Speed Racing, Mirror Tracks, Print Coordinates, and three unused blank ones. I say, use only 2 Player Adventure, Ultimate AI, and Choosing the Same Character so that it isn't considered cheating.

Or we just do regular 100% and any%, which I doubt will ever happen before we have access to a more accurate emulator. As of now, the awful lag emulation would give a TAS way too much of an advantage, resulting in gameplay that would be impossible on console. Lag is a big deal in DKR, since it affects boost physics.
Current project: Gex 3 any% Paused: Gex 64 any% There are no N64 emulators. Just SM64 emulators with hacky support for all the other games.

Adventure 2 places silver coins at different locations thus giving us three goal options; Any% Adventure, 100% Adventure, and 100% Adventure 2. 2 Player Adventure should be put off until we get better emulation.

4 player control, with FREEFORALL and DOUBLEVISION activated. But why tho? It's not useful for the full game run.

It was a TAS demo. I could do a 3-player TAS demo of Fire Mountain with Ultimate AI enabled. On second thought, a 3-player TAS demo of Fire Mountain with Ultimate AI enabled doesn't affect it very much... Another thing about Tracks mode, is that the AI characters are chosen at random. 1 player mode has 7 AI characters chosen at random. 2 player mode has 4 AI characters chosen at random. 3 player mode has 1 AI character for the battle courses chosen at random. Racers 5 through 8 are not used for battle courses. That means you're guaranteed 3 points for the final race if you did the glitch in Hot Top Volcano. If you're playing Adventure mode and did the glitch in Hot Top Volcano, winning or losing against Taj, an area guardian, or Wizpig doesn't count as a completed race in the trophy race. If you hit quit trophy race during a race against an area guardian or Wizpig, you'll be sent back to that areas lobby (or the hub world in the case of Wizpig 1). I'm curious what happens if you hit quit trophy race in the hub world or in an area lobby. Naturally, if you choose that option in Tracks mode, it just goes to the track selection screen.

I know the answer to that question, but why not try yourself. You seem to just be posting incoherent irrelevant messages that have no relation to any sort of TAS. If anyone was actually interested in some modern DKR TASs they can be found here: Wizpig 1: https://twitter.com/pheenoh/status/826098534516670464 Jungle Falls: https://twitter.com/Faschz/status/842649732069568514 Ancient Lake: https://twitter.com/pheenoh/status/850574522126405634 Fossil Canyon: https://twitter.com/pheenoh/status/871566259556581376

The main priority is to make a new TAS because the old one is overdue and sub-optimal compared to the current 100% WR.

As I said, the thing that kills peoples motivation for a new TAS, is the inaccurate emulation. But if you really want a new TAS, no one is stopping you from making one. In fact, there even is a verification movie available that unlocks TT, so you can get started right away: http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/20776651340613891

It's possible to beat the game with as few as 8 Balloons. The lobby in Sherbet Island is the hardest to T.T. Stomp to an area. The Japanese version saves an OB glitch. OB glitch to Wizpig 1, OB glitch to Dino Domain, T.T. Stomp to Tricky. T.T. Stomp to any other course once. Collect the 8 balloons, Ignore the Taj Challenge, win all trophies, T.T. Stomp to Wizpig 2, the end. It can also be done with 11 or 16 balloons depending on the version with less glitches. Maybe 10 balloons. Multiplayer usually desyncs here and there. Getting the keys from Snowball Valley, Crescent Island, and Boulder Canyon in 2-player mode is faster than in 1-player mode. Fire Mountain 2 players 1 nest. Icicle Pyramid and Darkwater beach defeat CPUs then each other. Smokey Castle P1 steal P2's bananas to finish quicker. Trophy Race try to finish close together. Waiting for last CPU to finish takes too long. Adventure Any%, Adventure 100%, Adventure 2 100%, and Time Trial All Vehicles are the goal choices. The former two are top priority. 1-player TAS is more important than 2-player TAS. Ultimate AI hardly makes a difference outside casual play. I'll do a few experiments, then I go for the jugular. Record times are posted on dkr64.com As a side note, Whale Bay and Pirate Lagoon record times were done on the PAL version while TAS is done on NTSC-J. Jackster's save is compatible with BizHawk without hex-editing. It works with any version of the game. For example: rename the save file as Diddy Kong Racing (Japan).SaveRAM The save created by the verification movie works with any version too. I'll do my best.

I'd love to see you beat the game with 8 balloons! Good luck! This will be an amazing feat to see considering the current low% run does 10 balloons, I really hope you do finish this. I wish you the best of luck. Sincerely, Faschz

Adventure Low%: 4 T.T. Stomps, entering Dino Domain the same way as entering Wizpig 1, Trick enter Sherbet Island. Dino Domain's fastest route for low%: T.T. Stomp to Tricky 1 > T.T. Stomp to Hot Top Volcano > Ancient Lake > Fossil Canyon > Jungle Falls > Tricky 2

This route is amazing so far, what do you expect to do after Tricky 2? I'm curious where you go from there

About the same as the Any% route. There is another method to enter Dragon Forest, by clipping out of bounds. It's necessary in the US 1.1 version, but not in the Japanese version as it can be done via wrong warp. I have a bit of trouble getting to Wizpig early...

Before I forget. I don't know if anyone knows this trick but you can beat the dinosaur running up the mountain by just driving around in circles behind the start. I did this playing the real N64 but could never redo it. Either way, it would be the fastest way winning.
Interestingly, this post led to a pretty big time save being found. Link to video
