Edit: I managed to fix it by doing the same set of inputs literally one frame later, so there isn't a problem anymore. Doing more research, the input does actually go through, but the game just didn't recognize it for some reason. I've been making a TAS of Project M's Subspace Emissary mode, and I've encountered a problem with my DTMs in this one particular spot. No matter what I do with the inputs themselves, the DTM desyncs all the time, but saving a savestate in Read Only mode, then reloading the savestate manages to fix the desync and actually has the input go through. I'm using Dolphin 4.0-5400, if there's any problem with using a somewhat older version, but I have no idea how to fix this.

I've faced this problem too. You may won't playback the movie from the beginning. By loading a savestate, you just skip the desyncing part of in put. Try to playback the movie!
TASing is like making a film: only the best takes are shown in the final movie.

I am playing back the movie from the beginning, though. My problem is that it only stays in sync when I save a savestate while the movie is playing, then load the savestate.

It's possible that there's an issue with the savestates causing the desyncs to occur.
