Practically, I am using the recommended emulator, the DeSmuME (which I friggin' love), and since Super Scribblenauts actually seem to work fine, I'm wondering: Should I do a run of getting all 120 starites? (This doesn't include the 121st starite, unless there is some way to manipulate the luck, or it just requires some specific trick I don't know about) Should I simply reach to the last world as fast as possible? Or should I do the evil and try to get every merit in the game? What words will assist me in the TAS? An example would be the fast boots. But is there a speed difference between quick and fast, much like there is a size difference for big and large? Are there any useful glitches? Of course, I would prefer not to have extremely cheap glitches, such as the Starite-Vending-Machine-Handcuff glitch in the first game (which I assume is fixed in this game). Should I later on make a Playaround version? :3 And a question not relating to my TAS, but is someone planning a TAS of the first Scribblenauts game? Answers plox.
This be your first timing seeing me, yes? Don't expect me to be the Uber TASer, because I'm not. =/

Scribblenauts is not a game to speedrun, but to make an entertaining playaround.

So I guess speed-runs of it aren't acceptable? But if they are, I guess I'll do the "Sacrifice Speed for Entertainment" type. Or otherwise, I'll just take your call and do a playaround. (Unless bizarrely (at least to me) it is a speed-run anyway)

If people like the run you make, it'll probably get accepted. Conversations about this game suggest that a pure speedrun would tend to be fairly repetitive, though, relying heavily on a small set of physics glitches associated with specific classes of items. Thus a pure speedrun is unlikely to be enjoyed by the audience, which means it wouldn't be accepted. But heck, we've accepted all kinds of crap. If you want to make a speedrun, whip up a few levels and see what people think of them.

I don't know the game very well... but always using the same strategy wouldn't be nice. The first game had a glitch with handcuffs, which wouldn't make the game suitable for speedrunning, right? Maybe that's not the case for this game, then a speedrun might still be fun... Whether "quick" and "fast" is equally speedy should be easy to determine using an emulator with savestates and a frame counter.

Why didn't I think of that. Edit: Alright, here's what I have so far.
Quick -> 190 Frames
Rapid -> 188 Frames
Speedy -> 187 Frames
Fast -> 170 Frames
Fast is, well, the fastest adjective of all.

Here's an idea for a playaround; the people behind Nintendo Power once recreated video game protagonists in this game by inputting Solid Snake, Heroic Plumber and Blue Speedy Hedgehog (I forget the other adjectives and nouns). Try what they did, only with objects, bad guys and the like. Hmm... Yellow Electric Mouse.
Why, oh, why do I even try to understand my own species?

Actually, I almost forgot about the Arcade Machine. I suppose I'll try that for now, getting a 9999. (Or farther if they never expected a player to reach 9999)

The boss is at 10-5. You can leave more than half of the game untouched.
