If you are referring to going into the platform when ZBing into the chillbully, I can confirm that that does happen in BizHawk. Atleast with my crappy setup.
EDIT: Looks like you weren't.
BTW, part of me think they're being secretive on purpose, since the Japenese TASers were faster, and don't want to colab, from what I've heard.
I would test out the Bounce Glitch in Bizhawk if I could, but I don't have it set up and I'm not sure how to set it up.
If indeed the Bounce Glitch happens not only in Mupen but in Bizhawk as well, then could it be possible that the game thinks Mario is beneath the platform for the frame that he's in it and can't down warp him for whatever reason so it upwarps him?
Also is there any way that the coin from the Bob-omb could be changing the byte in Mario's height?
About the first part, don't know, but since this behavior is not by itself producing the glitch, something else might be at play.
Personally I'm on the fence about it actually being a byte change, but I haven't looked at the code so anything is possible. At any rate, the coin itself probably has nothing to do with it, just a programming bug associated with the collision detection routines that have to process Mario and the coin at the same time. Perhaps I'll do some tests where Mario and the coin are both going over the edge to see if anything strange happens (more strange then colliding backwards.) If this does happen to be the case though, I have hopes that it is more widely applicable.

Not too secret..
But you are right, we don't want to vocalize too much. The authors working on it prefer to be low-key like with previous runs we have worked on, that end with a surprise submission making everyone lose their minds from the hype. And this time will definitely be worth it, so be patient please! Basically what that picture was meant to confirm is that we found a way inside VCutM without the wing cap.

Neat, I need to keep up with Twitter. Take all the time your need. It's been ages since a really polished TAS has been done. I'd rather weight longer for something better.

Because the SM64 community is full of possessive dicks lol, not going to name anyone though

effort on the first draft means less effort on any draft thereafter

I'm certain he's talking about a couple past improvements to the current any% that was never submitted here and only on youtube/nico. :P

I can't post a single thing here.... Even when it's worded with no malice and intended to inform about the subject everyone has been discussing/wondering here, lol. What I said had nothing to do with sharing information with Japanese SM64 TASers. In fact, I'm fairly certain Tyler Kehne is in the process of asking them to collaborate (not that we think they'll agree). The post after me by andypanther brought it up for whatever reason, but nothing I said was relevant to that. No one that is authoring this cares about BitFS being recreated like some users have implied. I swear, you all assume the worst in any scenario. There is nothing wrong with not announcing every single development we make, and I posted my other post after having all the other authors read it over. Sorry if it came off weird, I was simply formally announcing something already shared with the web
Edit: If it wasn't obvious, let me word it in a single sentence: We just want to stun people with an awe-inspiring run out of nowhere rather than have people find out the method and wait months to see it in action.
Well there did seem to be a fall out from that TAS. Especially with Tyler not initially getting any credit, and I remember quite a bit of frustration. So I hope you see why I got that impression. I honestly have no ill will against you SP.
So, I don't see anything wrong with the way Sonicpacker and the others working on this are behaving. They do in-fact, plan to share the movie file and actually submit it to this site. If they want to keep a small team and leak small amounts of information to build suspense without ruining the surprise, I say they should go for it! It seems it's the Japanese runners who often will not share their actual movie files. Not sharing the movie file when asked after you complete your run is bad sportsmanship at best and raises suspicions at worst.

If you're referring to the situation between me and Zomg all these years ago. It was because him and SS were being pricks towards me and SL. While they were improving SL's TAS.

My issue with that is the fact that they probably don’t know how to replicate the Japanese improvements, at least not yet. I’d rather they not submit a movie that has known suboptimalities to it.
