Scrubbing Serena Beach has been accurate in Dolphin since 4.0. 4.0-1706 fixed the cutscene skip. You do the cutscene skip by killing yourself as you get in range of the cutscene. In Dolphin when clipping out of bounds to perform it, there used to be an invisible wall. I got it on my first try after this build was released. For more information, it was featured in the May progress report and the build can be found here - https://dolphin-emu.org/download/dev/cffa848b9960bcf3dd7a5f3dfd8cdbe417b6ec55/
I was talking about J, E, or U.

Oh, I've seen it mostly in the J speedruns, but the trick is possible in U.S. at least the wall clip part, and the cutscene triggers from the same spot. I don't think it's done in single segment due to being risky.

I've seen it being done when the runner was far behind anyway, to try to save the run. I think it can be done on all versions.

Yeah, it's risky and saves a bit of time. Perfect for a TAS :) It didn't work in Dolphin until very recently.

Someone told me that when you fight the Gelato goop piranha and break the tower plate above it, the piranha will instantly die. Is this true? Is it dead for good? Is the plate reachable by some TAS technique? (without rocket nozzle and without Yoshi)

I can't imagine any way to get that much height without yoshi/rocket, but couldn't you just use moon jump to test it?

u can walljump and redirect back to the wall to keep walljumping, but i don't know if it could be used that way
I want all good TAS inside TASvideos, it's my motto. TAS i'm interested: Megaman series, specially the RPGs! Where is the mmbn1 all chips TAS we deserve? Where is the Command Mission TAS? i'm slowly moving away from TASing fighting games for speed, maybe it's time to start finding some entertainment value in TASing.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dZ4enYzi1Gk I don't know if there are any glitches in this video that could be helpful but I thought I might as well post it. This is only for Delfino Plaza, but I do plan on doing it for the other areas too.

I got a thought. Is there some moonjump code to test this?

Didn't people say this didn't work? and now it does? Well, I don't think you can get high enough to make the groundpound.

Is it possible to use that infinite wall jump trick against the mountain wall nearby, or is the invisible border unwalljumpable/too far away?

That was sick, itsPersonal! Perhaps a "100%" TAS will be promising in the future?

I've been wondering, but: How much time must it save before it becomes slower?

if by "100%" you mean "very short individual Shines"? then yeah, sure.

That’s really cool. What movement are you doing there specifically? And it’s faster than sliding with the noozle or what?

water sliding is and always will be the fastest way of movement, you have a speed cap of 100 units in this game and that's how fast they move at top speed. if my memory is correct on this, dives are 48 and dive recovers are 54. back-of-the-envelope calculations suggests that chaining 1-frame dives and long recovers (what I did in this video) will save ~2 frames per/sec over normal dives and recovers, which is what other TASers typically use on levels without fludd. basically, I made this video partly to show off my new strat for the moving blocks at the start, and to highlight that being in a dive recover state as often as possible actually does make a big difference when water sliding isn't an option.
