Hello. I'm new to this website, even though I've been following you for years. I'm trying to work Bizhawk 1.9.1, and everything seems to be working just fine except for the N64 games. Every time I try, an error message comes up saying that "a core accepted the rom, but threw an exception while following it." Do you have any idea what this means? I would appreciate some help.

Bizhawk comes with all the plugins you need/can use, you do not need to do anything.

Okay, so it says that it failed to load the audio plugin for Mupen64plus. What do you do to fix it?

For starters, you transcribe or screenshot the entire error message instead of escalating snippets

Here's what it says: N64 Load Error A core accepted the rom, but threw an exception while loading it: System.InvalidOperationException: Failed to load plugin mupen64plus-audio-bkm.dll, error code: 0x7E at BizHawk.Emulation.Cores.Nintendo.N64.NativeApi.mupen64plusApi.AttachPlugin(m64p_plugin_type type, String PluginName) at BizHawk.Emulation.Cores.Nintendo.N64.NativeApi.mupen64plusAudioApi..ctor(mupen64plusApi core) at Bizhawk.Emulation.Cores.Nintendo.N64.N64Audio..ctor(mupen64plusApi core) at Bizhawk.Emulation.Cores.Nintendo.N64.N64..ctor(CoreCommcomm, Gameinfo game, Byte[] file, Object Settings, Object syncSettings)

I think the version you downloaded was incomplete. I just checked 1.9.1 and it has that DLL file.

Is there a specific version from a specific website I need to download Bizhawk from?

I honestly don't know what's going on. I have redownloaded the version I have as well as the other versions and the exact same message keeps popping up for the N64. I have the DLL files needed to load the games I want to play, but still with no such luck.

Yes. I can play anything that's not N64 on Bizhawk.

I personally checked the DLL folder from 1.9.1 and that DLL was present. Could it be some issue with the Path that BizHawk is using?

could be security software interfere with the file loading. try turning all that off. Make sure the file size is 8,704 bytes. try opening it in http://www.dependencywalker.com/ to see if it can load OK on your system outside of bizhawk.

I don't want to keep this topic going much longer than it needs to. I think the problem most likely has to do with the path Bizhawk is using. I do have the dll folder with all the Mupen64plus setups, but is there a specific path Bizhawk needs to take? EDIT: I FINALLY got it to work! It turns out the path WAS from the wrong place. I fixed that and now N64 games are running on Bizhawk. Thanks for the help!
