This is a quality game.

Comments

It's actually a really bad game. The game needs several frames to detect input.
There are two characters in this game, a fast moose who is used most of the time and squirrel who can fly and reach platforms the moose can't reach.
Holding down Select kinda freezes the condition of the character, which means it doesn't cost energy while going fast. MESHUGGAH did this in his first level WIP.
To effieciently jump over enemies which can't be bypassed without getting hit, it's needed to reduce speed before getting hit.
It's needed to stand still to change characters. Also for character change while screen transition the character needs to stop moving before being able to change. This only works when jumping up stairs with the squirrel.
The moose has only one possible jump height, so speed needs to be adjusted when jumping over the stones in water.
The "Goof" things reverse left and right, it has no effect when doing the Select trick though.

RAM Addresses

0x0634Unsigned wordX Position
0x0664Unsigned wordY Position
0x06E4Signed byteX Speed
The speed address is weird, it's one unit higher when going left, but moving left isn't faster.
Have no fun watching!

feos: It was hard, but I accepted it.
fsvgm777: Processing. I'm sparing the other publishers the terrible music.

Man, and to think these games used to sell for $44.95. I voted meh, but it was an impressive optimization, nonetheless!

Holding Select negates the negative effects of going fact? Goodness! I hope this means a new non-assisted world record is in the works! (For reference, the current SDA run is 4:52.)

That was pretty odd. Does the character health use the same energy meter as the meter that depletes when you go fast? I was trying to figure out how damage worked in this game. The display bar at the top also reminded me of Spy vs. Spy. This wasn't real entertaining, but it was watchable, and luckily it's a short game.
Used to be a frequent submissions commenter. My new computer has had some issues running emulators, so I've been here more sporadically. Still haven't gotten around to actually TASing yet... I was going to improve Kid Dracula for GB. It seems I was beaten to it, though, with a recent awesome run by Hetfield90 and StarvinStruthers. (http://tasvideos.org/2928M.html.) Thanks to goofydylan8 for running Gargoyle's Quest 2 because I mentioned the game! (http://tasvideos.org/2001M.html) Thanks to feos and MESHUGGAH for taking up runs of Duck Tales 2 because of my old signature! Thanks also to Samsara for finishing a Treasure Master run. From the submission comments:
Shoutouts and thanks to mklip2001 for arguably being the nicest and most supportive person on the forums.

Fun Fact this game's engine was used for Wayne's World So you already know it's bad from the get go. As for the movie. Vault it and No for Entertainment

This game is so bad, the AVGN was right. The worst part for me is the "soundtrack", it's hurting my ears! It's not really entertaining, not even when you watch it with muted sound, but perfect for the vault!
Current project: Gex 3 any% Paused: Gex 64 any% There are no N64 emulators. Just SM64 emulators with hacky support for all the other games.

And in 1992, no less!

That was as technically solid as I hoped it would be, good work! It was pretty hard to listen to, though, and kind of boring to watch, so I'm going to vote Meh.

OH GOD MY EARDRUMS! Apart from that, it's optimised, and... well sometimes these terrible games can at least entertainingly broken but this one adheres pretty solidly to its own shitty mechanics. The optimisation looks decent but then pretty much every movie submitted here is well-optimised. Meh, leaning towards no.

I had no laptop for a week and this happens? feos, did you checked the tas uses all the already researched and documented tricks? answer: no, TASEditor probably didn't read my newer version of my gameresource page that I already asked to move to its proper place several times on IRC with no answer. Here you go: http://tasvideos.org/NES/AdventuresOfRockyAndBullwinkleAndFriends.html I will submit my movie when I finish it, which is 16 frames faster after 1st screen, 40 frames faster after 2nd screen and more frames on next screen because of better route and optimal bomb glitching. What happened with investigating TASes regarding it's technical value... edit: google result for the game title brings my game resource page as the 4th entry.

How do you imagine checking all tases one judges for all existing tricks at all? I verify questionable submissions, but who'd expect intuition to fail miserably this time? Moved it for you. Can't you edit Game Resources?

I expect judgers to take submission(s in general) and verify if they meets all the rules we have, containing it's technical value. So I expect the judger to research the game (a simple google search) or refer to other sources (seriously, my page is hosted no tasvideos so you probably will get it very highly ranked if you would have searched for it, it's not my fault that it's still on that particular page as I don't have right to move it).

MESHUGGAH, where did you get the speed values? I only found pixel speed, but not subpixel speed.

MESHUGGAH: The reason is that my paranoia has a limit. People notable for being really paranoid about all they do usually have another limit: they can't contribute such perfection for a really long time (human nature is limited in general, you can bend it, but you can't fight it). I'm more of a logical thinker than routine repeater, and I hope it helps me to serve the goal longer and cover a wider area. I'm not deliberately sacrificing quality to quantity, but when quantity is big enough, mistakes are more frequent.

Just don't tell me all you do is read the submission text and watch the video encode. I'm not pointing on anyone, but what other submission should have the same case when things were already knew but nobody tried to make a single step forward to discover a game. I didn't watched TASEditor's tas, but so far my wip looks much better than other "probably moon" TASes. Maybe just because of my "entertainment" taste (those nasty bomb glitch boosts are impossible)

Uh...this was putrid. If not for the graphics and sound I would've swore it was some crappy flash/windows game made in a day. This game is awful, and the comments by MESHUGGAH above just makes me really curious how does anyone make a TAS that different (and/or more entertaining) than this.
