Ok, so I've been recording videos of SNES games on both snes9x and ZSNES. After I record the .smv or [insert whatever file ZSNES records here] it will occasionally... Screw up. For example, Super Mario World. Sometimes Mario doesn't do what I recorded. He'll miss a jump or something and die, completely screwing up the entire video. This has happened on both snes9x and ZSNES, so I'm beginning to think I'm doing something wrong...

I can't comment on zsnes having never used it for rerecording, but what version of snes9x are you using?

I use 1.51+ v6, apparently.

Is it a svn version (should say "svn##" in the title bar)? If it's the latest, I've experienced some difficulties with the latest svn of the 1.43 branch that weren't previously present, so you'd either have to revert to an earlier version, or wait it out.

I don't think so. The title bar says "Snes9X v1.51+ v6 (interim) for Windows".

Dont worry! your doing nothing wrong! Its most likely a setting, or something with the emulator. Its most likely not you. The Newbie Forum is great for questions, but if you head over to the SNES Emulators Forum, you will find that there are people, who browse through that forum more often, than browse through here, who are better equipped to answer the question and give you all the help you need.

I remember Snes9X 1.51 and ZSNES both having known desyncing issues which occur unpredictably. As far as I know, though, Snes9X 1.43 is still available and doesn't have this issue.

Another thing to note. What you experienced was a desync which is where the movie does not play back properly and can screw up the movie. Just check the movie file every 10 minutes while TASing to make sure it does not desync.

snes9x 1.43 is outdated since many years, you should go with the newest emulator available. We recommend using BizHawk or lsnes. snes9x 1.5x is still accepted, but not recommended.
