Sorry to bother you with this, but I have the latest version of VLC Player, and while I get video, I am not currently getting any sound. This happens on every most recent TAS video that I've downloaded. Is there some codec I need to download for sound, or is something wrong with my VLC Player?

I've stopped using VLC, my audio cuts out every 10 seconds. MPC-HC works perfectly.

Just tried MPC-HC and it works just fine, get sound and everything. Thank you very much! :)

I second that. On Windows, VLC is bad now. The Linux version is still great.

Okay. Guess I'll be using MPC-HC from now on. VLC has become useless for viewing TASes now anyway.

The reason is mentioned here in the Encoder's corner.
