Nice seeing the glitch in action on Phase 3! Pretty solid route too; can't think of any way it can be improved. And Phase 5 looks tough, but at least you're done with it now.

Yay, Test Your Skills and Ice Physics... I thought I only had to do it once... I was wrong. Edit: Never Mind. Just saved 100 Frames and got a time of 14.5 Remaining (5.5).

Lets try that again: Link to video Also I'd like to point this out. I made my phase 5 faster by 2 frames to my older one. but they both started 6 at the same frame.

When I do grab it the remaining time is 14.3 I don't know how or why but I know that I copied my input which got a 14.5 but I have to add 2 frames in order to actually grab that coin for some reason. Yay, lost 2 frames and .2 ingame time. Edit: It's all good, I got the 14.5 now...

Well. I never expected myself to do this again. Link to video Obvious Issue: Pausing at opening of both Phases, not required. The downwards pause is just to show off take it with a grain of salt... Thoughts?

I like it so far. The pausing trick is a nice optimization not seen in real-time runs. The downward pause is surprising, though it's up to you if you want to keep it as it looks to be a speed/entertainment tradeoff.

-Video Deleted- I take that comment back about pausing on both phases. It's required to pause on first phase due to only being 3 "Turtles"... Game manuals everyone, they're amazing. Second phase obviously doesn't require it. 4th & 5th are sketchy at the end but that's all you can do with it. I'll be putting these out every 5 phases (not 3 like I did last time). Edit: Like so: -Video Deleted- Holidays are amazing. (sleep isn't)

Nice Phases 4 and 6, very fast and clean. The ending for Phase 10 was also good, that last Sidestepper moves fast! Thanks for the WIPs.

I would probably like a TAS of this on the remake version (GBA). You could aim for maximum score as a secondary goal, if you're not already doing so.

GBA version is quite different and will be waiting for multiple GBA screens as 4 player would be used.

I looked into the eyes of Phase 14 and said "Damn girl, you crazy." -Video Deleted- (I secretly didn't put a speed/entertainment tradeoff) 14 is honestly going to be my least favorable Phase through this entire TAS. I finally got it down down to enough of a tee and just wanted out... Instead I decided to stay in for longer to rid the evil instead of being free. 3 Phases to go and it'll be all over. Told you so. :)

[TAS|WIP4] Mario Bros. "1 player, 18 Phases" - 16 to 18 7:39.81 is the final time for single player which is only 00:32.83 seconds slower than having 2 players. Here's the full TAS: Link to video

I resynced (and console verified) the current 2P NTSC run in the latest BizHawk version: https://tasvideos.org/UserFiles/Info/637883069676489831 After doing so, I realized the first bonus stage could be done quicker by moving Mario to the right once he reaches the top floor instead of to the left. this saves about 40 frames. It can also be used to end input a little earlier on the last bonus stage. I'm not sure about the 2 in between due to ice physics. I didn't feel like resyncing everything again so I'm leaving this here as a known improvement for anyone interested.

Welp. Mario's back on the menu.
