Self explanatory, I got a superplay of Kirby's DreamLand 3 w/Gooey & ChuChu only going, and I thought it would be funny to make everyone "talk" to each other with the captions along with the author commentary. Thing is, I don't know how to add captions. Could anyone walk me through it? I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/2734698?hl=en http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SubRip Captions don't go in the TAS input file, they go in the encode/youtube upload.

1. It wouldn't be funny. 2. What Patashu said. You'd have to add them to the encode directly. I can't believe I'm actually giving legitimate advice, but try Aegisub. You get Avisynth support with the 32-bit version, so you can just add the subtitle file directly into the .avs script using a little bit of code and then... I dunno, push it through MeGUI for the actual encode since it has drag-and-drop .avs support.

1. What I meant was, have the characters converse with each other with the captions, BUT they ARE the author's commentary. Ex. "Gooey! You stepped on one of the flowers we need for the good ending! Now we'll get the bad ending!" or something like that. 2. Ah, I must be thinking of FCEUX.

What? Of course you can add subtitles/captions to the movie files themselves. Silly people. Both of BizHawk's formats (BKM and BK2) and lsnes support subtitles. I don't know if there's currently an interface to add them, but the subtitle format itself is pretty straight forwards, so using a text editor should work.

No, there isn't. And it's painful to add subtitles on .bk2 files as you must specify the frames yourself. A feature to edit subtitles embedded on the emulator, I mean, without the hassle to use Notepad, would be very welcomed.

How would you know? It depends entirely on how good of a writer YushiroGowa is. Let them give it a shot and then judge the results, instead of telling them not to do it in the first place.

BizHawk has a nice UI for adding subtitles! When a movie is in read+write mode, right-click and select edit subtitles.
It's hard to look this good. My TAS projects

This is sweet! This feature will be great for explaining different things in my next submission down the road.

For my 500 post privilege I demand this feature documented! No seriously, is this documented anywhere?

Why is this topic even in SNES Games?

What do I know? That should be part of BizHawk's page. (along with other not so apparent features) In any case, that's ten thousand times better than using Notepad!

This should be in SNES emulators or Bizhawk topic
