As I mentioned before, i believe it works after this. It's a recent change, so the wiki is probably not up to date.

Oh cool! If it works now you should be able to unlock everything, but you'd need to split the verification movie in two across JP GX and AX.

Using the Action Replay codes from F-Zero Central for the Story missions, breaks story mode. Don't use them. If you have a WORKING copy of the AX ISO, can you post the SHA-1? The "Non-Working" SHA-1: f44dc25b406ce111089a86dbe1f6a49c6f6de344

Coming soon: The first three cups (except Fire Field Cylinder Knot) done in Time Trials. Then, Story mode finally gets started (about time me). I have learned a few things about GX along the way. MT is awesome. It will be more so when a real TAS gets done. Flying (not space flying) is hard. Quick QA: Q: What about FFCK? A: It's hard. I am going to unlock Fat Shark then do that one. Q: What about the two other cups? A: I need to beat GP mode in First Place on Standard on the first three cups to unlock the fourth (Diamond). AX Cup can be unlocked by being first in all AX tracks on an AX arcade machine, or by doing all four cups on Master and getting first. Q: When are you going to finish Time Trials? A: When I have all five cups unlocked. Q: When will you finish Story Mode? A: I don't know. It's the hardest thing in the game. I will post WIPs when I beat a mission (story) on any difficulty. I plan to beat Mission 1 (Captain Falcon Trains) on Normal, then do Hard, then Very Hard. Then move onto mission 2.

I'd love to help you make a verification movie for story, but I've not been able to find any working U images. My optical drive can dump, but that doesn't help either, as I only have the EU version. We wouldn't be happening to use JAP, right? I haven't looked far that yet.

I am using the U version. Edit: Due to Desync in CPDB, I have to do it again. And again. I swear, it desyncs too much. It's not even RNG. Due to Dolphin CONSTANTLY desyncing at Casino Palace Double Branches, there will be no movie file until that gets resolved. Desync Discussion thread: http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=369479#369479 Edit2: Apparently I got F-Zero GX to Sync after CPDB. I am NOT using the 4.0.2 AV-Sync version. :( I am using Dolphin 4.0-1146 I am watching the run again to make sure it behaves. I am up to the start of BBO on the WIP.

I got past the evil Desyncs (I don't know what or why). I have unlocked (but not purchased) all the Staff Ghosts for the first three cups Except for FFCK. I did unlock and purchase Black Bull. Right now, I stand at a choice. Should I start on Unlocking the other two GP cups? Or should we start on Story Mode? If we do GP mode, it's much longer in terms of time to beat and accomplish, but gives new tracks for me to Time Attack. To unlock the Diamond Cup, We need to beat Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald cups in 1st place on Standard difficulty. To unlock the AX Cup, we need to get 1st place on Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, and Diamond cups on Master class difficulty. To unlock Master Class, we need to beat Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald and Diamond cups in 1st on Expert. Or, we need to get 1st on the AX tracks on an F-Zero AX arcade machine. I have asked about emulating AX, but the Triforce Branch either didn't work right, I didn't configure it right or I did not get the right file. My requests for a valid/working SHA-1 went unfulfilled. If we do Story Mode, it can be a little while, but no where near as long as GP mode. The problem is that each new chapter/mission requires tickets to purchase. We currently have 140 tickets. Beating Story Mode on Normal gives 10 tickets. Hard, and Very Hard give more, but I have not accomplished that, yet. I know that Chapter 2 costs 25 tickets. I think we can assume that each chapter is the same cost. My Skydrive/Onedrive has all the WIPs so far: http://1drv.ms/NdjoXM WIP up to Decision Time: http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/13337105596577320 Where do we go from here? Edit: BBO did not like Syncing so I had to redo it again. FFCK is not beaten (again).

Due to Updates in Dolphin (more accurate disc speed emulation and Fixing Rain Drop Mask on Lightning tracks (woot!)) I have restarted the Time Attacks. I have obtained better times (I think). If you are using an NVidia card, do NOT update your NVidia drivers beyond 332.21 as this run uses OpenGL, which is required to fix the Rain effect. If you do, Dolphin WILL crash. I am unsure if this effects AMD users. I did some other changes too. No more "Just Golden Fox." Blue Falcon and Black Bull are involved in this as well. Some thing you may want to know. If your energy (health) is too low for a full boost, and you boost anyway, you get a shorter boot, but if you run over a regen pad/plate (Those purple things) and boost while the first boost is still running, you can get a kind of double boost.

Finally got a WIP I am proud of. Got pretty good at FFCK now. http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/14916904056621781

Might be a good idea to provide some encodes of your WIPs. I would but my computer can't handle Dolphin emulation.

I am setting up a verification file. This will be used to unlock as much as possible (necessary) so a real TAS can run wild. From clean (blank) save, you get, 4 vehicles, no staff ghosts, three cups, no master difficulty, no custom parts, and story mission 1. I am attempting to unlock everything (except the Action Replay parts) legitimately.

Even more has happened recently. http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=15421 Another thing, both the Don't-Cheat-First and Cheat-First runs will require a second memory card. Why? So we can play with ALL the fun custom vehicles at once. We will need three garage slots for the Max Speed table, four for the Snaking table. The game with two memory cards, allows for eight custom machines. So, we can fit it. Maximum Dragon is on both Max Speed (HOW?!) and Space Flying tables. Machine parts order: Machine Name, Body, Cockpit, Booster, Pilot

Have you tried it? That ship's awesome with the advanced techs. On another note; I'm not actually sure the snaking table is correct. Sure, these machines are good, but they're good for human snaking. I think quite some testing will be needed before we know what's fastest.

Everyone should feel free to use my Cheat movie that gets everything then test to your heart's content. Edit: Can anyone test if recording Snaking with Dolphin works? I think quick motions with the analog stick while recording causes desyncs.

Until this issue gets resolved, I won't be making a verification file. This is due to OpenGL improperly rendering cutscenes in F-Zero GX and other games. Why not use Direct X? Because Lightning's Rain effects are improperly rendered when you use Direct X. http://code.google.com/p/dolphin-emu/issues/detail?id=6914

Just got confirmation from JMC47 that the physics in F-Zero GX are currently wrong on the latest version of Dolphin. There is currently a PR in progress that will fix this issue (and a bunch of other games who have their replays desync)

The softFP branch (when you disable certain JIT functions) by magumagu makes it so anything I record in Dolphin (timetrial/replay/ghost, etc.) will load up and play back correctly on the Nintendo GameCube. This should mean that you could record the most badass timetrial TAS, and then load it on the GameCube and it won't desync. Currently, physics are not correct, and desync on console.

JMC47 and Fog, I am still waiting for OpenGL in Dolphin to properly render cutscenes before I do anything with GX. If I have to start over, that's fine by me so long as we are being accurate.

hegyak: I recommend just making a modified build, and reverting the Sonic Unleashed Hack removal. There's no sign of it being fixed any time soon unfortunately. Because it's only a visual change, it would sync up with normal versions of Dolphin afaik; but you should test it with and without the hack in before anything else.

JMC47, Getting Dolphin to compile was a pain but after I figured out that and did the one line addition to the right file and boom, cutscenes. When the Physics works right, let me know.

For anyone who needs to know, this Branch: https://github.com/magumagu/dolphin/tree/softfp Is the fixed Dolphin for replays. However, the Dolphin developers say it's very slow.

Namely, this instruction right here +u64 MultiplySinglePrecision(u64 double_a, u64 double_b) +{ +#ifdef VERY_ACCURATE_FP + u64 early_result; + if (PreprocessInput(double_a, double_b, early_result, PreprocessMultiplication)) + return RoundSpecialToSingle(early_result); + + FPTemp a = DecomposeDouble(double_a); + FPTemp b = DecomposeDouble(double_b); + FPTemp result = MulFPTemp(a, b, /*single*/true); + u64 result_double = RoundFPTempToSingle(result); + + return result_double; +#else + SetFI(0); + FPSCR.FR = 0; + return DoubleToU64(ForceSingle(U64ToDouble(double_a) * U64ToDouble(double_b))); +#endif https://github.com/magumagu/dolphin/compare/softfp#diff-a0d60abeb990e854a60c0d1e0d417f0eR737 Master will be getting the main physics fixes though very soon. It'll make physics hardware accurate in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Mario Kart: Double Dash, Mario Kart Wii, Donkey Kong Country and others games. https://github.com/dolphin-emu/dolphin/pull/834 Hopefully now that we narrowed down F-Zero GX to one instruction, it won't be long before we have hardware accurate physics in master for it as well!

What exactly is affected on those games? Is it just the replay going wonky or the game physics for everything there?
