ah come on man, i don't have time to do resavings... it's just level 12! it's a HUGE time saver... :P
my icq is 135910397
and by the way, the movie needs a better codec, 140 mb is too much isn't it?

i'm making a single player time attack with warps, i was wondering, at level 9, when i skip those first robots, and i get to the first wheel, the wheel won't start moving, so i get stuck. did u have this problem with genisto? how did u get through it?

damnit, i finished the entire thing and when i was watching it it goes out of sync on level 9!!! argh! the comands start to get a bit too late right at the first wheel, and on the second wheel it results in a death... why did that happen? how can it go out of sync?

i figured exactly what happens on the level 10 glitch. on all battletoads games that i know you can finish off an enemy, no matter how much energy he has left, if you run and hit him while he is lying on the ground. that way you will do the boot attack killing him.
the runner at level 10 is a hitable enemy, but he doesn't lie on the ground cause he is a runner. so i tried killing him by hitting him enough times, but i was at the 40th attack when i gave up. he must have 999 energy or something like that. but when you destroy the bomb he starts falling on the screen. at that moment if you hit him hard enough he will get in "lying on the ground" state. you have 1 second to run and kick him before he falls again. that way you kill him in 2 hits. and after u kick him his sprite changes into the boss's dead sprite. that i don't know why, but it instantly makes you go to the next level.

hmm i have been thinking, maybe i'll do a 2 player warpless timeattack playing alone like u did in double dragon 2 hehehe sounds like a cool chalenge :)
btw, the way you guys got through level 3 is could be more insteresting, you can jump over most of the vertical walls, and you don't need to jump any of those walls the flying rats release. at some points of the game you are not running, maybe it is hard to do a 2 players time attack even if it's 2 people playing. it can be faster, maybe more than 1 minute. the boss at level 8, you can punch him many times (that punch that throws enemies to the ground) so he doesn't have to bounce that much.

ooo... :P but u skipped level 7!
anyways, i tried doing a 2 player one but the keyboard gets jamming too many keys pressed, so i decided to do a 1 player warpless (that makes it more different from the movie you made). i'm doing it at 10% speed, i finished level 1 it looks fast enough.

the second level is nice to hit some crows =) i'm halfway done
yea, level 8 is a pain cause i pressed right+left too many times, but at 10% speed i don't think it will be a problem. it's even faster cause i don't have to redo too much. and it looks more perfect and god-like.
edit: wow i just finished the second level and i have 434000 points! lmao crow badminton is cool
There are many possible reasons for Famtasia to desync when creating an fmv file, some of them probably because of what the player did (eg. quickload the wrong save or something) and some of them probably because of timing problems (if there's lots of cpu or I/O traffic it may be that the internal timing of famtasia gets garbled).
Anyways, it's always a good idea to check the integrity of the fmv file from time to time (by just playing it from the beginning), for example between levels.
What I do when I want to check the integrity of the fmv is to make a normal quicksave (eg. at the change of level), wait for some tens of seconds (it doesn't really matter what you do during that time, it's just to give you enough time to quickload later), stop the recording and then play it from the beginning. If everything is ok, then after the movie gets to the place after the last quicksave, just quickload and continue. (But be careful to select the correct quicksave with alt+number; famtasia seems to always reset it to quicksave 1 when you start playing an fmv).
Before the check it's a good idea to make a backup of the fmv and every quicksave you have made. What I do is that every time I check the integrity, before starting playing I make a new subdirectory (eg. called "gamename timeattack backup n" where n is a number) and copy the fmv file and all the quicksave files there. If you blunder when quickloading (typically you quickload from the wrong quicksave, thus trashing your fmv) you'll be extremely thankful for the backups. If you blunder and your fmv is broken, just copy the contents of the backup subdirectory over the current files and do it again (but more carefully this time, of course).

thanx hehe, i make backups now and watch the movie every new level =)
i don't want to spoil anything, but... on my timeattack level 4 looks very good! i have just finished it and i managed to do a very hard jump where you can go under the yellow spike on the moving plataform while the plataform is moving at you. 8)

hmm the warps skip a lot of auto-scrolling levels....
level 2, 3, 5, 6, 7 and 11 are auto scrolling, so you have to wait. i think that a battletoads warpless time attack is more aesthetic than fast... i try to do some daring moves on those levels, and i had just finished level 6 if it hadn't gone out of sync :P

i'm halfway through level 12, but i did level 9,10,11 and 12 at once, without watching the video, and i realized i can take a shortcut on level 9 by getting in the middle of some pikes, it would save 5 seconds or so and look cool, but i would have to remake the other levels... oh well........... should i do it??
so far the movie has 26 minutes and 2500 resavings. wich means it will end in 28 i think. that's a LOT compared to the 2 player timeattack (not as much as i thought the difference would be tho... since my movie is warpless and theirs is 20 mins), but it can't be done much faster than i did, i believe.
so.. should i redo the ending part of level 9? the other levels look so cool,,, >:P

here it is, the current version. it goes all the way to the first wind-blower in level 12. but level 9 can be done faster on the last swimming section, you don't need to go around that big block of pikes, you can just go through the VERY small gap on the right... i only realized it after i had done it to level 12.. look at the rec and see how cool level 10 is especially...
(edit: link removed, the complete movie is gonna be avaliable soon, i believe)

u say run you mean he did in a singleplay, or resavings used?
by the way, i said i had 428.000 points at the end of level 2, right? guess what, i only managed to get 999.999 on the last level! quite impressive, i thought i'd be getting it much earlier... ehehe
wow Phil's and Genisto's 2-player Battletoads TA was cool. Full of action with nice teamwork!
Same teamwork for next Battletoads, Battletoads & Double Dragon - The Ultimate Team? :=)
