Submission Text Full Submission Page
BTG-Neo Turf Masters (japan ver. default settings) Japan course -Fernando Almeida-
Emulator used: fba-rr-v007 only eagle and albatross (including hole in one) risky shots/situations - unusual/unexcepted routes
Score : -42 (maybe extremly hard possible IMPROVEMENT -46, if i can control wind condition like Airman)

feos: In rare cases, an improvement within the certain goal can still be rejected. In Moons, it pretty much happens due to the improved version losing by entertainment to the old version significantly. The existing movie for that game met a huge amount of rapture, wile here people weren't so excited, and some even stated it's less entertaining than the existing movie. So this submission is getting rejected.
As for branches for this game, I don't think it gives enough variety for several published branches in Moons. Other than that, you always have Vault where you can just go for plain speed and get published.

errr what?

FERNANDO ALL THE WAY
I want all good TAS inside TASvideos, it's my motto. TAS i'm interested: Megaman series, specially the RPGs! Where is the mmbn1 all chips TAS we deserve? Where is the Command Mission TAS? i'm slowly moving away from TASing fighting games for speed, maybe it's time to start finding some entertainment value in TASing.

So is it an improvement over both 2 other submissions?

Note to everyone. Cannot obsolete this one. The reason is that the courses are different, since this run uses Japan and the other is Australia. I wish this stuff was explained in the submission. Edit: In other words the other submission should be canceled for 2 reasons: 1) not getting the max score (which is apparently -42) 2) using a sub-optimal player. Apparently the optimal character for this course is the Brazilian NOT the German. Edit 2: The way this can (and this too) be obsoleted is with a full tas with all the courses... someone can probably explain this part better than me. I didn't think that way when this was originally created.

the first video was (like i said many time) a show off run, bounce bounce bounce, and by the game genre itself a maximum score attempt...with robert... well, now i assume that Almeida is better for score tas(optimize character) and will concentrate on him... i was kinda like, "i'll do the 4 courses with him and Robert, to compare cause you guys told me about that the first time", that's the reason i post two submissions... but that's not that important and pretty confuse, i'll just run Almeida now! sorry guys spike : Australia recycle other course stages, but the stages in Australia course don't change at all... alaktorn : it's not that easy, trust me, i can't control wind condition perfectly...but yes, it potentially can (if i can choose wind condition by myself) edit : spike, i don't get the meaning of you "edit 2" edit 2 : maybe this http://tasvideos.org/2550M.html should have a different branch name "Playaround", cause i'll submit this one with almeida but without many bouncy and entertaining shot in "maximum score"

You don't have to submit movies for publication to show them to us for comparison. TASVideos provides some space to each user to store movies that you don't want to submit, and then you could post them in the Arcade Games forum.

I'm not sure what to do about this submission. It gets the higher score than the existing one, and also gets it faster, and the feedback is still ok. But what the author is willing to do in future? Test other characters? Try to improve the score? Make another branch movie? mamuuuut, please tell us.

first of all, the game allow you to choose 4 differents courses (in a one credit game, you can run only 1 course) (the problem with the branch is due to that fact?) my project is : maximum score the 4 courses (Japan/Germany/Australia/U.S.A) and by the way try to improve the score a day to do that i must take Almeida who is the optimal character (kinda like Robert L. but the gauge increase way faster, and in TAS it is not a gameplay difficulty anymore) so not other chara will be tested i will not create another branch...the only other one i see is "playaround" for the existing submission cause "maximum score" will be obsolete if i submit the Almeida version for this race (better score but less entertaining) talking about the existing submission, this one can't obselete it cause it is the Japan race, not Australia this submission is the japan course, so basically the 1/4 part of my project i finish the germany race recently (2/4), so remain me 2 courses and it's ok feel free to question cause i have problem to explain my thinking in english Zarmakuizz si tu passes par la----Zarmakuizz if you see that------

Basically, there are four courses in the game, which are the countries listed above. The thing is you can only do one course with one credit, so I think the branches issue come from that. My main goal is to finish those four courses with the "maximum score" (so the most possible under the par) and once it's done, try or make other try to do better, even though what I'm posting is already fairly optimized. To do so Almeida is the perfect character (Robert L. is too but Almeida's bar is filling faster, which can be problematic in a RTA but not in a TAS). Other characters are meaningless. I won't be creating other branches, but I'll suggest to change the already published TAS to "playaround" because as a "maximum score" it'll be obsoleted if I submit the new version with Almeida (meaning the score will be better but sacrificing entertainment in the process). Also about the one already published, it can't be obsoleted by this submission since it's not the same course, one being Australia, the other one being Japan. Technically this submission is one quarter of my project and since I already have finished Germany, I'm halfway done. Just two courses left and I'm good, for a grand total of four submissions not including the TAS already published.

I like this run too, but I liked the Australia run more. This course had more cool hole-in-ones, and it was interesting to see the putter used at the end. However, the bounces were crazier in the other run, and the Longest Drive competition in this one felt less impressive. One thing I noticed is the "Level-4" on the bottom of the screen. Does that mean this game can be played with a harder difficulty? Would that make a better run to increase the difficulty? In the meantime, I vote Yes. It's somebody else's problem to figure out how many branches we want. I'm ok with one run per course, but maybe it makes more sense to have one run only aim for fastest time and another aim for more entertainment.
Used to be a frequent submissions commenter. My new computer has had some issues running emulators, so I've been here more sporadically. Still haven't gotten around to actually TASing yet... I was going to improve Kid Dracula for GB. It seems I was beaten to it, though, with a recent awesome run by Hetfield90 and StarvinStruthers. (http://tasvideos.org/2928M.html.) Thanks to goofydylan8 for running Gargoyle's Quest 2 because I mentioned the game! (http://tasvideos.org/2001M.html) Thanks to feos and MESHUGGAH for taking up runs of Duck Tales 2 because of my old signature! Thanks also to Samsara for finishing a Treasure Master run. From the submission comments:
Shoutouts and thanks to mklip2001 for arguably being the nicest and most supportive person on the forums.

basically it can, level 8, but it only change your rivals performance/classement so it's not necessary

Had to use Google to understand what that meant. Yes, that is what I mean, to complete every event in the game if we are just getting four maximum score runs.

I agree with mklip2001. I didn't enjoy this quite as much as the Robert L. run, but I still found it entertaining. Wherever this gets published, my vote is Yes.

Even if we change the existing movie's name to "playaround", it can be obsoleted by a run that looks fairly similar and is more entertaining, even from the other branch. People here didn't spot out too much difference between the 2 runs. And recalling how much excitement the other run generated, I'd consider this submission losing to it by the entertainment value. It's faster, and it gets more score, but it's another course and also is less entertaining... Sounds to me like not a reason enough to publish one more branch. I'm leaning towards rejection. Each course needs a branch? I don't think so, since they will anyway be a bit similar. If someone strongly disagrees, elaborate, why we must have both.

I suppose the emulator supports resets? Maybe do the four courses in sequence, separated by a hardware reset?
