It would be really cool to get a Steelix in Pokemon White 2, but the options to achieve this seem pretty limited. It seems that the only way to get it is to trade an Onix that's holding a Metal Coat. The Onix I have, the metal coat I can get, but the trading is the problem. I don't know of anybody who has this game. Any suggestions?

The nerd way is to have 2 games and 2 consoles (or 1 console and you borrow another one).

That gives me an idea. Since I own Pokemon White as well, all I should need is to find someone who owns a DS, so it should be possible to transfer pokemon between them. I think I know at least someone who does.

My little brother recently bought 2 DSes for this very reason. I told him that for the same price he could go halfsies on a Wii U with me but he didn't listen...

You have 3 options. 1. Find another DS and do a Trade Evolution. 2. Catch one in Twist Mountain or Clay Tunnel in dust clouds, although they are only accessible after beating the E4. 3. Send Pokemon from this server http://www.pokegts.us/Default.aspx into your game using the GTS by manually specifying the DNS address. Too bad the trade evolution glitch doesn't work anymore.

The human element of the run is far more entertaining than the game itself. If it wasn't for someone lying about their record 40 years ago, I don't think we'd take a second look at this run/game. Meh vote.

I found a friend who has a 3DS. I was able to do the trade exactly as I wanted.

Now I have a more difficult problem. In order to access the "Nature preserve" location, you need to have a "seen" status for all the 297 pokemon in the Unova pokedex. Problem is, there are four pokemon that do not appear in any form in the game (Vullaby, Buneary and, in my case, Oshawott and Samurott.) The only way to get a "seen" status for the entire pokedex is to trade those four pokemon. Vullaby and Buneary don't appear in White 1 either, so it cannot be used for the trade even if I had another device. This seems to be an impasse.

For Buneary, you could PokéTransfer a Buneary from Generation IV (Diamond/Pearl/Platinum/HeartGold/SoulSilver) over to White 2 or trade with someone that has Black 2. For Vullaby, your only option is finding someone that has either Black or Black 2 with one. Also, see if someone has either of the forms and request an Oshawott egg for your White 2 game.
