I used VisualBoyAdvance under the GB setting.
    * Uses warps
    * Abuses the map warp glitch heavily
    * Manipulates luck to save time
    * Takes Damage to save time
    * Uses game restart sequence
My aim for this game was to complete it as fast as possible. I take damage this time while fighting the axe warrior to save time.
Links Awakening is an adventure game where Link must collect instroments in order to wake the wind fish and find his way off Koholint Island.
I completed this game without collecting any instroments! The only Item I collect is the L-1 sword and the L-1 shield. The method for beating this game seems to be well known, and am shocked that I don't see a time attack for it. Thanks to David Wonn for his well known glitches. ( http://kontek.net/davidwonn/ ). The only differences between what he features and what I did was that when warping to the level 8 in-game warp: You do not have to restart the game then, rather falling on the right hole will warp you straight to that warp! That saves a lot of time. I also don't wait for the nightmare to go into play after I am done glitching up the final battle. I found a way to make the game glitch somewhat the same, but made the battle between the Aghanims more difficult. However it was faster this way! This game was hard because luck manipulation was very random it seemed. I wasn't fighting the game to create just a good path, I was fighting the game to glitch right as well. When I am fighting the Aghanims it appears that I waste time by missing the first set of balls. This cannot be helped.
This is my second run of this game, the ending included this time. I shaved 21 seconds off my last run, which I didn't think was possible.
I took the advice of torbjrn. Thanks! I do feel like a moron though, as I probably should have known this before hand. Like I said, I'm still new at this. Kind of like burning your hand in fire. You do it once and you learn forever, and hopefully you won't do it again. Furthermore I'm sorry to everyone for jumping the gun, of course I probably made myself look more like a fool then anything else...Please forgive me and this is my LAST ONE. I'm not doing this run again unless I am given a real reason to.

Someone beat this for me. I know I made a fool of it, but maybe if someone else does it, it will make it a good run :)

There's still the autofire problem everywhere. Unless you were very lucky, those frames probably add up. Instead of holding autofire, frame advance it until you find the earliest frame you can press the button. Also, you take an extra swing every time you load up your sword. You can start holding the button again in the middle of the spin.

I realized this after my run...I thought I was saving time by doing what I did. I do feel better that I don't have a worse time anymore then what was being discussed on the forums. However, a couple of people expressed their irritation that I kept going "no wait I messed up!" and not realizing it before I submitted. So I will leave this one be and hope that in the future I do not make the same mistakes...

Whoa, I knew about the screen warp bug, but I didn't know you could use it to create that massive glitch at the final boss room! Impressive! I'd vote 'yes' if I could!

Did you read the FAQ, as suggested on every page of this forum? http://tasvideos.org/CodecProblems.html

Hehe.. the movie is kinda confusing if you dont know what going on. There is a fun glitch that allows you to fast forward through the map by using the the well know "map-trick" glitch.(I dont remember the glitch name) Just excatly when you reach the end of the screen and it begins to scroll you press Select. If you have done correcly you will end up at the other side of the screen in the next area. A really cool glitch.

If someone would post exactly how to do whatever the hell is going on in there, i wouldn't mindtaking a stab at it. p.s. why is the avi so small? is it just me, or is this avi substantially smaller than the super mario land avi? not smaller, in mb, but smaller, dimensionally.

The VBM file doesn't seem to work with me. I downloaded the prog, the ROM, but when I try to play it back, it doesn't appear in the list. It really has the .vbm extension, but VisualBoyAdvance can't recognize the file. What's wrong ?

Are you using the right version of VBA? Also, make sure to use the right version (v1.0) of the ROM, since the bug this movie relies on was fixed in certain versions of the game.
