That's pretty much how I feel. As far as the "anticipation" thing goes, I am really hoping to see a new Tool album this year. They don't make music very often (last two albums: 2001 and 1996)

vgmix.com deserves some recognition as well i think... so heres some of my favorites from there (even though it is technically a cover artist): goat, ryan8bit, darangen, reu, sefiros there are other songs on there i like, but i find all of these as must downloads (stars if you will :)). Ailsean would be on there as well, but i havent seen anything from him for a bit. and also Children of the Monkey Machine... even though that seems all but gone.

So long as we're talking VGMix we should mention virt who, I believe, started the site. His recent epic, Crystal Flash, is an incredible recap of the entire Super Metroid soundtrack.

My favorite band is Nine Inch Nails, and then there are a lot of other bands that drift in and out as favorites.

It seems I won't quite fit in with the rest, but here you go, anyway. :) My favourite singers are probably Greg Lake (ELP), Emma Härdelin (Garmarna/Triakel) and Alanis Morissette; I also very much like the voices of Anne Buckley, Barry White, Bono (U2) and Van Morrison. Band-/music-wise, apart from the above-mentioned bands, I also like Golden Earring, Running Wild, Massive Attack, Philip Glass, Mike Oldfield, Brian Eno, the Minibosses, Hammerfall, Big Sky, Wolf Hoffmann, and several others I forgot - but then, I generally don't have that many favourite bands. I like a lot of songs by a lot of different artists, but there aren't that many where I can say that I like *everything* they did or where I really consider myself a fan in that sense. ^_~

Since VGMix was mentioned already I'll just list my favourites from there: Ailsean, Goat, Virt, Zyko, Housethegrate, Ashane, Vurez (and some others I might've forgotten to mention) From commercial productions my two favourite bands are Juno Reactor (Labyrinth rocks) and Infected Mushroom.
