Which is slower than this submission.
Warning: When making decisions, I try to collect as much data as possible before actually deciding. I try to abstract away and see the principles behind real world events and people's opinions. I try to generalize them and turn into something clear and reusable. I hate depending on unpredictable and having to make lottery guesses. Any problem can be solved by systems thinking and acting.

......does this mean 1193S will be un-obsoleted and be vaulted?

It contains speed for entertainment tradeoffs, so it's not eligible. But this one's 3 minutes slower than it anyway, so it's super ineligible.

Failing to beat an already existing record then. No way for unrejection.

So should these runs be unvaulted?

I didn't look closely, but that there are so few, a couple appear incorrectly labeled, and most of the rest are things like "I played a bonus stage for points instead of sat in the corner so there'd be no score countdown," that doesn't really convince me of much since they were all under the old rules. This one stands out like a sore thumb against the vault's stated rules though as speed was absolutely not the primary goal and could be fairly trivially improved in that department. http://tasvideos.org/2237M.html

Looks like the rules weren't applied with all needed care once they were invented >_>

I guess yes, but make sure to be faster than this submission and to look for other WIPs that may appear to be faster than yours. But you still must post your own progress, because if you don't people can come up with improvements after you submit and prove your run is sloppy.

Video is okay too, but most importantly you need to post movies you end up with while testing things.
