Here's the planned route as of right now. I still need to go through and test it. Ordon Gate clip Back in Time Save/Reset Lantern Goats Iron Boots Sewers/Hyrule Castle Twilight Sword and Shield Skip (dig up rupees here) Open S. Faron Portal Skip Vessel Skip Tears Enter N. Faron EMS Warp back to S. Faron Back to N. Faron EMS again (fight skip since we no longer need this portal) Enter Forest Temple under Twilight Up to Gale Boomerang Save/Reset Warp to S. Faron Forest Escape Mailman Skip Open Kakariko Gorge Portal (Midna forces you to warp here) Warp to S. Faron Forest Escape Again Mailman Skip Again Zombie Hover LJA Across Gorge Enter Kakariko (walk around KB1 Trigger) Clear Eldin Twilight (necessary to finish clearing Lanayru Twilight)(We also need to manipulate rupee drops here without wasting time) Warp to S. Faron Forest Escape #3 (lol) Lanayru Gate Clip Drop into Lake Hylia Rupee Dive into Lakebed Save/Reset Lakebed up until Ooccoo Ooccoo out Finish Lanayru Twilight (howl here?) Warp to Zora's Domain Steal Iza's Bomb Bag (howl here?) Back to Stalactite Room Empty Bomb Bag on Waterfall 10 water bombs LJA through Lakebed to Deku Toad [WB: 9] Deku Toad w/ Water Bombs [WB: 6] Backtrack to Staircase Room Warp out w/ Ooccoo warp to Zora's Domain Goron Bomb Bag [WB: 5] rocket link [WB: 4] (Equip G BBag and Clawshot) Map Glitch G. BBag empty partial in Cave when clawshotting vines Empty more before Shadow Beast fight Snowboarding (Get every rupee here) Western Route through Snowpeak Ruins (empty bag here too) Freezard Skip Ball and Chain (Good place for emptying here as well since you have to wait on Dark Hammer initially) Return to Lakebed via Ooccoo vine clip on Goron Bag (Save 2 bombs for Stalfos in Arbiter's Grounds) Morpheel w/ Lent Bag [WB: 2] Lent Bag Disappears Midna's Desperate Hour (rupees here if needed) warp to Lake Hylia Auru's Memo Red Rupee on Fyer's House if needed Canon to Gerudo Desert Boar Skip via Ball and Chain Small Key Skip in Gerudo Ruins (ideally) Arbiter's Ground up to Spinner (80 rupees from Re-dead Knights) Save/Reset Stallord Open Mirror Chamber Portal Skip Raising Mirror Trick City in the Sky Early Fix Canon (20 rupees on Fyer's House again if necessary) Water Bomb chest in City in the Sky CitS up to Double Clawshots Save/Reset Finish CitS Warp to Mirror Chamber Palace of Twilight (Water Zant w/ Water Bombs from CitS) Warp to Castle Town Get Ending Blow Warp to Castle Town Again Mailman Skip Octopus Midna Eats The Barrier Barrier Skips in Hyrule Castle Save/Reset after King Bulblin Final Barrier Skip Dark Nut #1 Dinalfos with Water Bomb Boss Key Final Lizalfos/Dinalfos/Dark Nuts Final Battle Notes: - Need to see whether the optimal time to howl at the Upper Zora's River stone is during Lanayru Twilight, before you talk to Iza, or after you talk to Iza. The best decision is probably run around the hill right before Iza, howl at the stone, then run behind the sign and transform, then talk to her. - Also, if ending blow is needed to speed up the end of the Morpheel & Argorok fights, it would be better to get it as soon as possible. This doesn't cost an extra warp because getting ending blow warps you to North Faron anyway. - Howling stone in Lake Hylia is a bad idea because of what was previously mentioned. Will edit as I think of more stuff. EDIT: Just thought of the best time to get ending blow: after midna's desperate hour. You're literally right by it and no warps will be wasted because we have to warp to Lake Hylia anyway. More Stuff: Since we don't need tears, it's probably faster to save warp/kill ourselves after Master Sword to get back to N. Faron (as if we were doing fixed EMS).

Awesome. Of note, the rupee route still needs to be figured out though. There's tons of rupees we can get without wasting much/any time, but i doubt we can get enough without wasting any at all. There's a lot of places where we are running around as wolf, where we can just do a jump attack through grass, and get a couple of blue rupees, but then we'd probably have to get text for it once (it'd probably take longer to repeatedly sidehop through them). It is possible to attack some grass, get a rupee drop, and get the rupee, all in one jump.

Uh, no? Warping puts us closer to the forest temple, and is faster than running into lost woods, save resetting, then leaving, and dying.

We cant warp straight there from master sword. We would have to warp to south faron, dig under the fence, go into the cave, dig through the cave, transform on the bridge, go through the purple mist, transform again, then you're at North faron.

I'd want to know if there's someone working on a TAS of the route that Pheenoh said. If so, what's the final time that you expect to this TAS?

As far as I know no one is working on it. Rog started a new wip but stopped at goats.

I would highly recommend at least 2 people work together on this since it's a huge project. Sometimes you can't spot things whereas your partner could and correct it.

I'd actually be a lot more inclined to work on it if pheenoh wanted to do it with me. Though there are still things that need to be tested and planned for the route before anything can really be started.

Hi there! I'd also be interested in the projcet. I had a look at the demo (which is already amazing). I'm currently replaying the game (GC EU version) and often, I said to myself: "TASing this part of the game could give a crazy result" or "Sure this can be skipped"... I have quite good programming skill (espacially C#), I wrote a 2D engine and a beginning of 3D engine based on the XNA framework and also, I wrote small things in Lua. My very big weakness is that I don't have any TASing experience :s If I can help, in any way. It'll be a pleasure.

Oh I see. Good luck on the testing and on the future TASing of it anyway :P

Small update http://pastebin.com/3vfduhtb Unfortunately, we are going to have to time the amount of time lost from rupees gotten through grass patches individually, down to the frame. If it adds up to more than 10 - 15 seconds, then the route will probably turn out to be slower than the old one that gets the orange rupee at the Snowpeak Ruins entrance. Here's the current goal: Required rupees: 300 Snowboarding: 105 Arbiter's Grounds: 40 (We'll be skipping 2 Re-dead Knights) RNG Rupees: 155

I'm going to have a look at Ganondorf fight tonight (and made a video if possible). Just to be clear, I'll test with a "true" game (nothing has been skipped) first. Due to poe's soul mechanism, I'm almost sure it's impossible to get their soul in another way. But... "impossible" doesn't really exists in TAS dictionnary :p. I'll have a look at this.

I've notice one thing. It's theorical but it sounds to be correct. Ending blow can be divided into two. First is pure skill and helps you to defeat some mobs or some boss (like Morpheel or Diababa) and 2nd, I'll call it "event" (Poe for example). Ending blow event isn't linked to skill, that's why you can finish poe without learning it. So, Small poe's, Big poe's (in AG) and Ganondorf have the same background mechanism (don't know if this is the correct word in english) and can be shorten like this: Amount of damage -> Amount of damage -> fall on the ground -> Enable Finish. Obviously, Ganondorf needs more damage than poe's. From that point of view, Ganondorf could be finished without ending blow skill.

I'm gonna post this here in case anyone wants to take a shot at it. This is a glitchy pillar in Arbiter's Grounds that pushes link partially out of bounds by the door that leads to the inner dungeon. If a skip here was found, it would save a ton of time. Here's a video of it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5961EkPpdus And here's a save if anyone wants to fiddle around with this on Dolphin/Console. http://www.mediafire.com/?b3efop5m849b1t2

Don't see it working, the gap between the pillar and the walls seems too big.

It's close enough that we could make it with a gale slash, but it doesn't seem possible to clip all the way through the wall, except with hookshot. unfortunately, there's nothing to hookshot onto that could land us into the load zone.

So uh, this seemed like a waste of time before, but... Link to video It should be close enough to reach with a better angle. I can't seem to get anything better though. I think there's a good chance this might work though, so if anyone wants to help, finding a way to do this would be the way. This could save around 9 minutes.

What was the previous tas record? Are you showing a demo or have you started tasing this game?
