It's the auto turn delay, but instead of climb down, you must try to climb up the ledge. The skip of Scrabania and Paramonia turned out to be a massive waste of time. With the current known tricks only Zulag 2 can be skipped, sadly.

I'm finding the jump backward glitch hard to perform. You have to do the stop turn delay glitch and you have to press the opposite direction before he unrolls but timing has to be accurate.

Yes, in real time it seems too risky, as if you fail Abe dies for good. But it's the same trick Sligfantry used in his video of Exoddus, so it must be possible in real time. antd made an encode of my submission; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IeQP8INOxHs The first backward jump is just to avoid the lever, the skip itself is around 29:22.

@sam, that isnt the DDG, he doesnt do any hoping before getting shot, and he cant walk around. It just seems like a freak occurrence. Edit: Here's a short vid I've done showing the DDG being done with bees (PC). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sm08onQP3sU I'll have a go with sligs now.

The 100% is still at an early stage of development, but the Stop & Turn trick already saved time; 8 rescues, 838 frames ahead so far. edit: oh, oh... with those new tricks it's a lot harder to plan anything ahead, so I'm planning "on the fly" :) 10 rescues, 960 frames ahead. another edit; a hard drive crash forced me to restart the whole thing... yet another one: I managed to save part of my old hard drive, luckily, the movie file too, but my images of the game found their way to oblivion, so, it is on hold. edit: Not on hold anymore, all of my lost CD-Rom images are back :) edit: yeah, I love to edit my posts :) 33 rescues so far, more than 5k frames saved. edit: the v2 of my 100% run is up and running, here's a wip: http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/4879271791501047

Hey Dooty! Did you know you can save more frames in Scrabiana by making Abe and Elum invincible and it's faster to complete the level that way! Try it!

Thanks for the tip, Samlaptop! I'm at Scrabanian Temple, looking for shortcuts at the moment. So far, I only found a way to set up the auto turn delay, the one used to walk through walls, from above a ledge instead of below it. But there's only a few of those "special" ledges which allow me to do this, fortunately, this one saves some frames. I'll test your strategy tonight, but we have a problem; there's a well right before the spot where this trick could save more time :( (those pesky wells have the ability of canceling the trick)

Now you got me confused; you guys managed to set up the trick at the start of the stage? And even passed the well without cancelling it?!? I'm assuming you did it on the PC version, right? On the PCSX I'm struggling to find a place where the trick can be triggered without wasting more time than it possibly would save.

You do it at the second screen with the slig and the bomb. What you need to do is wait till the Slig moves to the left and then say "Hello" 3 times and whilst the Slig jumps into the bomb, jump and it will activate the DDG. I'll make a video to show you.

How are you getting on with the DDG at Scrabiana Dooty? Have you updated your movie to include the new route? I think in your new publication it should involve a guide on how to get through the stage so that other speed runners will know exactly what they need to do whilst they are invincible.

The new strategy is 1614 frames faster than the old one. But it's not really a DDG the way we know it; Abe can survive falling from high ledges, the orbs can't kill him and wells do not cancel the trick. Passing through Bird portals cancels the trick, otherwise it would save a lot of time on the rescues in Scrabania. I'll try to put as much details as I can in my new submission on what I'm doing in every screen while Abe is invisible, but I think it's best to also cancel or delay my any% run. In any case, I'm still puzzled by this new form of DDG and know how it work the way it works may lead us to other skips, but I'll leave it for the new any% run.

With tools like frame advance and save states I would be lying if I say it was hard, but it will be painful to do in real time, I guarantee that. edit: Here's the wip featuring the new strategy, 8907 frames ahead up to Paramonia; http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/5011673052167962

I know a nice shortcut in rupture farms 2 that might save some frames. You can skip pulling the lever to rescue the other mudokons by making Abe invincible and he can get passed through the electric gate. At this point he won't be able to walk through a door but this won't matter as you will need to make him back to normal again as there are high ledges onwards.

Thanks for the tip, I'll make sure to test it as soon as I reach that point, but I confess to you that I can't quite remember where it is... I'm at Paramonia, near the bee hive. So what? Well, I don't know if it will save time or not but I'm going to include the DDG here also.

I'm talking about when you skipped the lever pull in your any% run you will be able to skip it a different way in the 100% run. When you go through the electric gate with Dark Abe he'll die but if you make him completley invincible he'll go through it.
