Disagree completely. First of all, update your codecs, the quality doesn't suck at all. And secondly, there is even a 480p and 1440p encodes to download...

As mentioned by Guga and the publishing page, there are encodes of higher resolution here: http://tasvideos.org/forum/p/321794#321794 As for your desyncing problem, yep it's a pain to pinpoint but if you really need it even after those links, I guess I can give you my Mupen folder as I am the one who made those encodes.

What... how do you make a TAS with such an unreliable emulator? How do you verify any part of the movie you made didnt desync? That is retarded. Either way, this never happened to me for any of the movies I made with Mupen. And yes I have tried multiple times. How many times has the guy who captured movie to MKV had to try? :-)
Not many as it is more settings than anything.

Can anyone help me figure out desync problem or will I have to download that stupid low quality torrent?

BUMP. Can someone please send me their exact MUPEN folder so I can make sure it matches mine? I cant get the movie to play and the MKV encode quality really sucks. I dont wanna watch 240p.
Thanks for the compliments.

You like 240p? Good for you. I dont.

My codecs are updated. If they werent, I would be seeing visual artifacts/playback problems or not being able to play video at all. 240p even at lossless quality looks really bad compared to the original fullscreen replay.
And secondly, there is even a 480p and 1440p encodes to download...
No thanks, the 240p one was almost 500MB and noticeably lower quality, now I peak at the 1440p MKV file and its... 600MB? Are you kidding me? I'm surprised the codec even allows a bitrate so low for a resolution so big and 2 hours long. Maybe if youre on drugs thats good quality.

That would be awesome, thanks.
Thanks for the compliments.
Youre welcome. Honesty is a virtue for me, I hope it is for you too. Your 2D encodes are very good and easy to download, your 3D encodes on the other hand suck and there never will be a codec that will ever make it look as good as the original on any reasonable bitrate.

Last time I checked the 320x240 10-bit 4:4:4 encode was 96.17 MB. Where did you get 500 MB? Did you even bother to look at the 1920x1440? Or did you assume just because of the size. Edit: Apparently there is a misunderstanding. Your 2 hours tick it off, the link you want is from here instead: http://tasvideos.org/forum/p/312229#312229. That file is 2.8 GB for 1920x1440. The original link was to the any% of the run. Apparently you want the "All Dungeons, Temples, & Ganon Trials" run. To sync that run may require save states as said in the submission post (I think?). That may help.

Hey guys, I really hate it when I have to watch 240p! It really tickles my tummy! I also hate it when the upgraded quality file is only slightly bigger for a run that is obviously very long and I should obviously know that it only being 100 MB bigger makes no sense!!! I have a degree in File Containers which I recieved because I used Windows Movie Maker that one time, and I know this doesn't make no sense!!! I'm just being honest even though the only reason I say I'm honest is because I want to throw insults everywhere!!! Grrrrrrrrr!!!!!!

I think you confuse me with someone who gives a shit, kid. @Ahktan, yes I am referring to this run[/URL] and it does not mention the use of save states once in its playback guidelines. Are you able to play this movie?

Just download the 480p encode... Also, I agree with NitroGenesis. You are using the excuse "I'm being honest!" just to insult people.

Okay let's make this clear: I do not watch encodes, ever. I only watch the perfect quality original on the emulator, the only exception I made is that super mario run where a guy played 4 ROMs at the same time because I didn't know how to reproduce that on the emulator. k?
insult people.
Citation needed. Sure are a lot of pretentious whiners on tonight. Your never-ending accusations are starting to get annoying. Is this a regular habit around here? If so, I wanna talk to your admin.

I am the one who encoded that run, so yes I can. Yep there is no link to the save states, but here you go: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?5dpx357uhdkq8xu Not sure why you need a citation. Calling anything "suck" is insulting as far as I know. Is it different for you?

What's next? People complaining they can't get their bot to work as they "only watch the perfect quality original on the console"?

Thank you. The save states are useless and dont work (I never saw a save state as small as 64KB before) but the .SRA helped and everything is in sync and playing smoothly except if I'm watching full-screen and the TASer resets the game, MUPEN crashes with Direct3D error, but is fine on windowed. I kept periodically saving states as game progressed so I can reload if it crash, but my save state halfway through run before Volvagia boss didn't work and now is desynced again. Damn. So... am I the only one that needed an .SRA in order to play the movie? Why is this even required? I've never played the japanese version of Zelda ever so I don't have any conflicting SRA files.

Giving you feedback on the bad quality of some encodes is insulting? Sorry dude but grow some balls. Nobody will commend you for bad quality. Expecting only compliments and no criticism reeks of severe narcissism to me. This is a very good way to lead an unsuccessful life and learn nothing.

Bad quality my ass. Aktan is the best encoder of the site and everyone agrees that he does the best encodes.

I'm sure insulting others for doing something they don't even need to will surely lead you to a successful life.

Except you didn't really give me the feedback, just stating it in a thread I had not noticed until now. Also I wasn't exactly complaining about it, but you were asking for some citation. I just gave you the citation. So do you think calling "sucks" is not insulting? This is what I think you believe currently.

I made the savestates and save data files because other people had problems. Another tip was to set the CPU affinity to only one CPU for Mupen. As for your full screen crash, I've not encountered that problem.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Argumentum_ad_populum If you enjoy 240p quality, you need to get your eyes checked. Virtually everybody outside of your little video game club would agree I'd think. As you could probably figure out by now, quality is very subjective and we all have varying tolerance to lossy encoding. This is why it's fruitless for you to "disagree" about someone else's perception of good quality and attempt to force yours down their throat. If you wanna have more credibility, show some numbers instead of meaningless opinions and whiny protests. Give me the average SSIM value of every frame compared to the lossless original. For me, anything below 0.99500 is noticeable quality loss and I can't watch it. Of course, that number varies with different sources. For captures of 2D games 0.99950 is indiscernible quality and easily achievable with low bitrates.
I'm sure insulting others for doing something they don't even need to will surely lead you to a successful life.

You and several others accused me of throwing around insults when I was nothing but neutral with all of you and for that you've lost your right to a modest decorum from me. I told you that the quality of the MKV capture I was watching sucked. Is it the content or the delivery you're complaining about?
