You can view the 'Ending' of each game mode by completing 100 checklist boxes. You can even watch the credits from the checklist as i tested today with a file i have on my gamecube with 119/120 completed. If you can 'unlock' the 'reward' of the checkbox by using a purple square which in the case of the bottom right square is the 'ending' of that game mode, would this be sufficient enough to be considered reaching the credits? I'm not sure why you are avoiding the question. I'm not trying to be rude, I'm only trying to help you guys save some time if possible

Uh..... ........... Whatever. If you're so insistant that purple squares can unlock the credits, go ahead, make a TAS yourself.

Ok, after trying for a long time, I conclude that the "Free Star" is slower than the "Steer Star" because it takes longer to turn. Todo: Post video evidence WITH audio sycn.

It took me a while, but here's video of 2 laps in GRASS: Link to video Both of the TASes are not optimal; I did both in around an hour just to compare which star is faster.

Could someone please help me find the addresses for Kirby's speed in Top Ride? I've been trying to find it, but when I thought I found it, editing the said address does nothing to Kirby.

Well, after some trail and error, here you go: 0A535300 00000001 04C87BF4 BF5C6A14 This causes kirby to move really quickly to the left once the left d-pad is pressed. Now excuse me as I do the same for the other 3 directions. Edit: The speed address, and almost every other address, changes position every single stage. >.>

Using the speed address, I tested the press A for one IV theory. Here's the results Time - Speed No input 00:00:31 - -0.489040 00:00:33 - -0.475888 00:00:35 - -0.471494 00:00:36 - -0.453527 00:00:38 - -0.444174 00:00:40 - -0.426214 00:00:41 - -0.416853 Press A once at 00:00:33 00:00:31 - -0.489040 00:00:33 - -0.475888 00:00:35 - -0.471494 00:00:36 - -0.451738 00:00:38 - -0.437879 00:00:40 - -0.432422 00:00:41 - -0.418253 Hold A for 2 IV's at 00:00:33 00:00:31 - -0.489040 00:00:33 - -0.475888 00:00:35 - -0.471494 00:00:36 - -0.451738 00:00:38 - -0.431835 00:00:40 - -0.425689 00:00:41 - -0.411963 So the theory was correct.

Here's an updated first lap TAS of GRASS. I'm sure more time could be saved eventually. Edit: And I was correct! I've managed to bring the time down slightly. It's now 00:03:68: I'll post the dtm if I can't improve it further, which is unlikely.

Couldn't you get 100% and use the purple boxes to get the few that would waste tons of time (like the play in free ride for two hours (in city trial))? And also, you can use the purple boxes to get 100%. Me and my brother have gotten everything twice in this game (stupid memory card corruption) and the first time we used them, and the second time we didn't.

Hold on, I'll check what you said about the purple boxes. Edit: Here's the dtm for the 00:03:68 lap. I hope someone improves it one day.

Sorry for the incredibly belated reply, but here it is, a save file of 95 checkmarks + 5 unused purple boxes. Now, to make a savefile of 115 checkmarks 6 months later.

I've finally remembered about this so here's the result: Unfortunately, despite able to get this message, the purple boxes can be further checked. If you want proof, I have a savefile of 119 checkmarks here: http://sdrv.ms/183G2eT *(Skydrive link) Fill in the check with a purple checkmark, then win 1 round at the Fire stage. The purple would then turn gold. So technically, for a 100% to count, you would have to do every thing.

There have been lots of Kirby's Air Ride IL TASes posted on nicovideo lately, such as this one which shows off some techniques that remind me of F-Zero GX tech: Link to video

I was most suprised with the fact that the video is so smooth. And I am definitely looking forward to seeing a Kirby Air Ride TAS.

Unlike youtube, you can upload 60fps footage to nicovideo. (The Yoshi's Island TAS is 60fps on nico and isn't on youtube, for example.)

Cool videos. Thanks for posting them, Patashu. He sure makes a TAS of Top Ride look easy to make (though it's probably not).

Hmm. I don't suppose there are any of the moonlit valley (or whatever it's called)? The wheelie scooter is already quite nastily fast on that, without the...bounce-boost? they keep using on lap 2.
