That was a pretty nice video, but I think the two ships stay too close to each other. There were plenty of paths to take in Stage 2 but you made both of them take the same way.

My thoughts exactly. The best use of two players in this kind of timeattack would be to have them take alternate paths and kill different enemies simultaneously. That being said, this is still much more impressive in many ways than what I had previously gotten done when I was working on this.

I personally wasn't impressed. Even I could just put the 2 ships together and treat it was a 1 player aesthetic run, and I have no chance of being a TAer. Though it was nice whenever the 2 seperated, it just looks like not much effort in controlling the 2 was put in it. I agree with level 2, you could have gotten both ships to go seperate paths but when you reached the first wallcano, you could have had the ships seperate and dodge different rocks, that would have looked more impressive. I suggest only putting the ships together only at boss fights where the force field trick doesn't work.

I heard some people requesting this one, so I thought I would give it a shot. It's now complete and in the submissions page, so give her a look. I aim for speed, acrobatics and a high score since the game is scrolling much like Gradius. Enjoy!

I am cancelling this project. reasons: - People losing interest in SHMUPS. - People unimpresed with my WIP. - Somebody thinks that these rejected submission is better than this WIP. - Really hard work controlling 2 crafts myself.

after watching the gradius run I was inspired to doa TAS for my favorite NES game, which is Life Force, or gradius II basically for North Americans. I noticed there was a run of G I and G III but no Life force, so I've been fooling around with the game, I just did a run last night. the first real attempt at beating it for a submission, the first time I actually played through on an emulator was just to refresh my memory. I don't want to submit it, because I don't think it would qualify. However, I am looking for feed back, so if anyone would care to watch and help me find the flaws in the video so that I might be able to improve on them I'd be very grateful. I think that's it for now/

Within 20 seconds of starting this movie, it's obviously nothing most of us haven't already seen. Someone else can tell you about missed shots, but I didn't like this because it's simply unimaginative, and doesn't do anything that most people couldn't do at 50% speed. Wiggling back and forth isn't any more interesting than just sitting there... there was a discussion about this in another thread about one of the Gradius games or a submission thereof. Point is: irrational movement is (at best) unsatisfying to watch for ten or twenty minutes. I think the latest idea is to spell out words using the ship/options. Some style of cursive handwriting, I would assume. Also, annihilating all those red vine things around 7500 might merit a submission... might be impossible, but that's the sort of insanity that makes a game like Gradius watchable, IMO. But, hopefully these ramblings help you cook up something fun for next time... I'm really not one to boo at a free show for no reason. ;)

thanks alot, I'll keep all that in mind for when I do another attempt at this, or any other game most of the time when I move I am making a shape of some sort, or some pattern. at least I tried to, like figure eights, and whatever, but yea, I understand the boring aspect of it. I sat there and watched myself doing it for a few hours lol

gradius II wasn't released in north america originally, and life force/slamandar was ported to the nes in it's place. which you probably know anyway
