I know this is only one step above complaining about IRC, but I thought I would tell everyone that I'm going to be studying in Japan next year. No word yet on whether or not I will be able to continue my moderation duties while I am away. てりーくん, I'm coming! Put out an extra pair of slippers in the 玄関!

Good Luck, and here's to hoping your name doesn't have long streams of consonants, so everytime they say your name it doesn't take 5 syllables. ^^

Try some fugu for me!
A hundred years from now, they will gaze upon my work and marvel at my skills but never know my name. And that will be good enough for me.

Do you know where in Japan you'll be? What will you study? Next year is still a long time away. But anyway. Since I'm here now feel free to ask me anything. Maybe I can help, maybe I can't. I just remember that I didn't have anyone to ask about all the things I should have asked about.

Nope, I'm lucky in that my name rhymes with a common English word that most Japanese are familiar with. You'll notice it's written in my sig in katakana. Of course, most Japanese people tend to address me by my first name with -San, making every day feel like The Karate Kid II.

I've been doing that on my blog for a year now. I find I have a lot of cultural clashes here in the United States. But when I go to Japan I hope to add more pictures.

I'm going to Kansai Gaidai in Hirakata. It's a foreign language university, so I'll be studying Japanese as well as Japan-related topics (those will be in English). I'm very fortunate to have met someone here at Albany who lives in Osaka so he'll be around to help me adapt.
