There is a very noticeable lag of at least half a second. Clearly the kinect is not suitable for anything that requires fast reactions. A dance game seems ok because a delay of a half second doesn't matter as long as you do the same moves.

I've "played" kinect and it is really bad.
1 - lag
2 - imperfect reading of gestures
At least the wiimote lag is really small. Anyway, buttons are better for gaming... There are only a few games that work well with motion controls.
I'd like to know what about uncharted looks like shit.

The 360 Slim is ok when it comes to the sound level, but it's not even close to the PS3 Slim. That being said, it's generally not ruining the game, but I doubt it'd be fun to play Fatal Frame on a 360.

I've downloaded the video and frame-advanced through some more obvious scenes. By my calculation the lag there is around 0.1 s (100 ms), which is less than half a second, but still 100 ms more than what I prefer. It would obviously make non-deterministic gameplay unacceptable.
As long as it doesn't replace normal controllers, it's ok, but there's still the annoying aspect of developers putting motion-recognition gimmicks in otherwise cookie-cutter games to cash-in on the hype, instead of just doing coherent games that attract attention by being better than the rest.

Yeah I've already slapped people while I was using the Kinect and it feels good, man.
You can also use that as an excuse to grope someone and get away with it.

I'd say that the main winner for me for PS3 is to be able to operate the dashboard while playing (And not just stretch to check messages, we're talking pretty much the whole deal here), while the 360 is amazing at quick start up and shut off. The 360 is more stable when actually playing (The PS3 is notorious for freezing during gameplay) but the mark of RROD will never be forgotten.
The PS3-controller has built-in battery, whereas you have to buy a battery pack/rechargable batteries/whatever for the 360-controller which is a turn off if I ever seen any.
Free, if not always stable online play with the PS3. Not free, but much more reliable online play with the 360.
I play video games so I don't do motion based shit, but as far as I've understood, the Kinect requires a well-lit room, where the Move goes for a darker room. I suppose that kinda tells if you're going for a single-player experience or the ever so infamous party-games. Then again, what's wrong with the standard controller? This move-based hysteria reminds me of the QTE-madness that raged some years ago.
A couple of years back, the 360 was the winner due to multi-console releases being far superior on the 360. That's not the case that much anymore. Then again if you are looking for exclusives, then yes the PS3 is worth it. You state that you will play Uncharted on the PS Vita, but I see no reason to miss out on the first two (three) games, they are absolutely amazing video game experiences. GT5 isn't a seller for the PS3, but God of War is. GoW 3 is such an adrenaline pumping experience that it's almost sick.
For me, it's going pretty much "Exclusive win for PS3, multi-release win for 360", and when it comes to motion games, let us not forget "whoever wins, we lose".

I explained that it only needs light for facial recognition, and even that feature works fine with far less light then you'd expect (as long as the console has collected enough data about the observed human being under that kind of ilumination).

The Xbox 360 controller uses standard AA batteries. A pair of fully charged rechargeable AA batteries lasts for at least 2 weeks in it. Not really a turn off.

Meh, I've bought myself a wired Horipad EX 2 and never went back to the awful d-pad of the stock controller, anyway. :P To be fair, though, I've played on the stock on for way more than two weeks and never had to change the batteries.

Right. So it requires extra light.

Right. So it requires separate batteries.
I have a play-and-charge kit for my 360, so I don't have to change or recharge AA batteries to be able to play. I'm just saying that such a thing should be standard. Especially seeing how this is the nth iteration of the 360 that's available these days.
On a separate note, we were looking for exclusives to sell a console. Not a dysfunctional waste of time and money. But go ahead and have fun with your Mel B. Dance Party. I'm not judging.

Also, what are the best PS3 exclusives that aren't God of War and Uncharted?
I haven't played any PS3 exclusives, but I would say the best ones not mentioned already are:
Interestingly, this convinces me I have no need for a PS3.
How so?
Not a single game on that list interests me in the slightest.
Honestly, once Sony lost FF exclusiveness, they lost me as an interested customer. My NES and SNES get more love than my 360 anyway. I can't stand most new games...
Also, Ass-ass-in's Creed II was purely awful. 3 hours of play before you get to your first assassination. The end was stolen from Indian Jones and the Crystal Skull. Of all the hollywood scripts to steal from, why one of the worst of the decade?

I don't think it's fair to make fun of the game's name. They didn't even make up the word, after all; it's been in the English language for over 400 years.

This is probably one of the most funny statements I've seen in forever. Whether it's tongue in cheek or fully serious, it's hilarious :)
>>Also, Ass-ass-in's Creed II was purely awful. 3 hours of play before you get to your first assassination.
I thought AC II was somewhat disappointing with the new aesthetic choices and cliches 'n' all. Not to mention they fixed my favorite glitch from AC I from the game engine, severely hampering the game's replay value for me. But AC I is a game I can't help but still admire... such an intriguing atmosphere.
>>Heavy Rain
Mmm, it was a nice experience. Played through it twice, second time on hard-mode too. But it ought to have far better controls and more glitches.
>>God of War always was and will always be a game for morons who can't get never get tired of action movies/games' cliches
God of War isn't a bad series in my opinion. But then again, my opinion may be influenced by the fact that (you guessed it) the glitches of the series are great and oh so numerous.
I think Assassin's Creed II was awesome.
Generally speaking I have got a bit tired of wide open sandbox games. Far Cry 2 was so boring that I couldn't get myself to play it longer than a half dozen or so first missions (usually I play most of games completely through before I go for the next game). I played Fallout 3 to the end, and it was ok'ish, but there was not much joy in the open roaming; it was just going from one mission to the next, and the wide open sandbox felt more like being there to slow you down than anything else.
However, for some reason I really liked AC2. I can't put my finger on the exact reason, but it just worked. The amount of free roaming and doing missions was pretty balanced.
3 hours of play before you get to your first assassination.
Well, if the main joy of the game lies in assassination, that means you're wasting 3 hours on padding.
Yeah, there were only a handful of actual 'sneak up and assassinate character X', (in the main story line) and each was surrounded by 2-3 hours of filler. I guess I just hoped that a game named "Assassin's Creed" would be more about... you know, assassinating people, and not listening to leonardo davinici babble for hours on end.
Also, unskippable cutscenes? In this day and age? really? At least it wasn't as bad as AC1, where dying people would talk for 5 minutes straight.
Oh, and the final 'twist' is so monumentally stupid, it hurt.
The best/worst part - was when I was playing the 'follow the meeting' mission. You see the blatantly obvious bad guys, 10 feet in front of you. I decided, fuck this mission, I'm going to finish this. Killed all 5 guys before the 'mission failed' came up. In my mind, I beat the game, early. I really hate when open world gaming means "Run for 10-15 minutes between each mission, but do EXACTLY WHAT WE SAY in each mission, or fail." (yes, I realize animus is supposed to follow history, but wow, shitty game mechanic. It is poor game design when I can kill the final boss early, easily.)
GTA4 was the single worst game for this. There is one mission where you are supposed to hijack a delivery truck. So, the delivery truck pulls in, and I pull out my sniper rifle, aim, and blam... bullet proof glass. First time in the entire game, only car to actually have this... on a fish delivery truck. And why does GTA4 not let me do the mission this way? So I can play a FUCKING QUICKTIME EVENT. This is NOT open world gaming. This is kick you in the balls for spending $50 on an interactive movie with long boring commutes between parts of the movie.
*sigh* I miss the Hitman games.

My favorite part of ACII was finding the hidden areas. The one that takes you way the hell up in a cathedral was great!
Agreeing with GTA4 sucking though.
I have a PS3 and I can say I got my share of enjoyment out of it, even if I only have a few exclusives. The one I want to mention is Demon's Souls. The somber atmosphere fits well with the games RPG elements, and it is very difficult. Despite the difficulty it is also rewarding when finally taken down one of the many bosses.
I liked this game, but feel free to disagree with me.

Assassin's Creed is a ripoff of Hitman and Manhunt except they removed all the beautiful graphic violence and replaced a badass bald/skinhead hero with a homo wearing a hood.

I'm sorry but that looks really clumsy and boring. The character's turning and movement speed alone looks like it would make me crazy within 10 minuets of playing. Also it looks like most of the stuff could easily be done with the Wiimote.
