I'm not doing a TAS but I know this day will come so I'm looking for glitches and tricks. Lets start -If you touch a wall and change direction at the same moment, you'll get a little boost allowing you to jump farther. Like the club trick in Medievil. -Rev rolling at a certain angle can make you do a really high vertical jump. -In "Under pressure", before the water part, if you jump from the deadly things spinning, the level don't load, so when the streaming begin and the water appear, you're already at the bottom of the pipe, really faster than swim downward ^^. Or just go OOB... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KoHt4LlWBQI -Some shortcuts in Spin Dizzy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N-z2u-YhRQE -Clowning around sloppy playaround http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XqZzs1rwlHQ -Gimme space http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VP1bBgY1V48 -Buccaneer beach glitch http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TzOJ09sSJDs More to come...

This game looks surprisingly TASable.

Hi skychase. Thanks for the glitches and shortcuts. Well, as I said, I wanted to do an Any% run. But I don't have an intention to do for now.

Did I mention that this is one of my favourites? Well, I don't have much time to actually TAS anything right now, but I want to contribute with your project, so I'm doing a test run using some of your glitches.

Test run ! YEAH ! Oh and when you swim upward, press left and right left right, you'll swim faster ^^ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EFFb0aKleek^ Moar shortcuts ! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oraD5u49zco http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E3Fc-4GNLDw

Left and right also seems to make him jump higher, thanks for the tip. Here's some memory addresses that I found useful, 2 bytes signed:
000f65c8 X Speed
000f65d0 Z Speed
001546c0 Jump Height
But this game is harder to optimize than I thought; the maximum speed is kinda random, holding the square button for 21 frames sometimes is enough, but not always. Grab higher ledges is also a pain in the neck, I only managed to do it bumping against the walls, and even being faster, it looked sloppy. anyways, a (decent) test run of this game requires more time than I have at the moment, so it will be a rough test run, but I think it can (will) be useful to find new tricks.

Sorry for the double post, but I'm getting an error message when I try to edit my previous post. This game has many stages, so I was wondering if it would be possible to skip some of them. I saw that in some stages you run through walls with ease, then it might be possible to do so also on the world map, just a thought but it might work.

(I always get everything so I don't remember -_-')... I'll take a look, but seriously there's a lot of invisible walls on the overworld. (Is there death trigger, and if we die, where will we respawn ô_ô ?)

I think the first door of each section is always open, but it would be good to test using a cheat code first to make sure, I'll do it tonight.

Very good indeed, this boss is one of the most time-consuming to complete in the normal way. by the by, my cheat test didn't work yet...

I found a strange glitch and I can't do it again, in Under pressure, at the same place I started my oob video, the spinning thing, I jumped on it while it was spinning and going up at the same time and got thrown so high in the air, it took almost 10 seconds to fall back into the level, maybe we can land on the exit trigger... ^^ if it appears. Edit Could have been better, but weird anyway. ^^ Edit2 Good vertical speed, but not enough horizontal speed, not really useful. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TlOmRGAhs_0

Crazy! by the by, I was trying to find a shortcut on the world map (yes, I'm a stubborn* guy) pushing against the invisible walls when Pac-Man started to float. I'm now trying to find a way to reproduce it at will. It may be useful if you could jump at the peak of his floating animation. *and stupid, 'cause I was not recording, just playing it normaly... :(

I know what you're talking about, I floated once in Clowning around, I don't understand how though. Sadly, the overworld has an invisible ceiling so it may be hard to skip any level.

Sorry for double post, sooooooo, did you find a way to glitch through wall on world map ? I haven't made any progress since my last post, (too busy with Oddworld AO/ Paul's level editor ^^)

I tested another level. ^^ Link to video
Have you tested something that might lead to vertical height gains in this? Also, any possibility of clipping in this level near the end to avoid having to blow up the thing that covers the level exit?
