If you avoid here, you're still going to be detected by the enemy in the next 2 rooms ^^!

Neither way, you still have to charge Shinespark! So I think it's faster if you do the Shine-jump :) Plus you can save 5x30=150 energy, so that you won't need the E-Tanks in Security Lock 2's room :D:D:D If the Event 1 is actived, there will be a room that require to kill 5 enemies to pass (see my 1st run of this hack) Those enemies are strong b-(

Well, you don't need that E-tank anyway, judging by your run. But I'll test that new route when I get there.

:D If I have got it, I would have had enough Energy to make my escape smoother! (in my run I need 60 more) Ok I will test it :D

Damn, I can't test it yet! But I think with this new Speed Booster technique, the escape will smoother!

I only watched some of that NBMB TAS so I'm not sure how far into the game that is, but it seems like your progressing well!!!

I don't follow that run, my routes are different :D I try not to repeat the same route many times, and try to expand the game more ;) I just have Tourian and Pirate Ship left! There is a Missile pack in Tourian that is extreme hard to get o.O?!

And you shouldn't follow it because from what I saw it wasn't very optimized at all. I mean aside from the Continuous Wall Jumps I could do part one better non TAS. Anyway that's great!!! I'm really looking forward to seeing its completion!!!

WARNING: this hack has too many items!!! Besides Samus' equipments, there are 28 E-Tanks, 45 M-packs, 25 SM-packs, 25 PB-packs and 4 R-Tanks, in total of 143 items! Each item takes 400 frames to play the music, that means 143 items take 57200 frames (equals 15 minutes 53 seconds and 20 frames) (about 16 min just to hear the collecting music XD)

Wow, that's a lot of items!!! So its 225 Missiles, 175 Super Missiles and 175 Power Bombs to end the game. I understand the reason for so many Super Missiles but, why so many Power Bombs? Well I guess its for noobies to explore areas. Still that's a little excessive to put in so many Power Bombs. Its enough having 100 Items in the original game. To be honest for 100 Items to equal 100% seems like the perfect formula in my opinion.

You get less stuff per pickup: 50 energy per tank, 5 missiles, 2 Super Missiles or 2 Power Bombs per pack. Which is 1499 energy, 225 missiles, 50 super missiles, 50 power bombs.

Oh! That makes more sense now. Some how I didn't even notice that. LOL!!! Regardless there is still a ridiculous amount of items in the game. I like that in a way though because its kind of more entertaining to watch all the room strategies for getting the items. Not fun to go through all those Item Boxes though!!!

Watching es2xx's 100% run on youtube, following along on a sweet map from Metroid Map Station, it looks like he actually misses a Missile container in the Pirate Ship. es2xx video - screenshot of map just before finishing Missile that was missed? And doing the count, that would make 144. Which gives 230 missiles (which seems to make a little more sense, since all the other maximums matched that of Super Metroid). Yet still it says 100% at the end? Edit: Also, with PB early, could you get the power bombs sitting in Chozodia that get stolen later on? Edit 2: So, watching the rest of the video, you apparently have to get this one during the escape. Whoops! Edit 3: Still curious about the PBs though, if anyone has that answer. Edit 7 million: I might have figured that out too - are those the same PBs that you get in Tourian by the Xray (so if you get them early, they don't appear later)?

That Missile can only be acquired by rescueing the animals The Power Bomb in Chozodia and the Power Bomb in Norfair are both the 1st Power Bomb you can acquire, the one in Chozodia is long way to get so everyone seems to choose the one in Norfair (and of course you can only choose 1) The Power Bomb in Tourian is still there even if Mother Brain is killed, but the X-Ray is not, if Mother Brain is killed, it's disappear! Yes you can get X-Ray neither in Tourian or Pirate Ship, but in Pirate Ship, you have to unlock 4 doors (they're not Security Doors) obviously get it in Tourian is faster! :)

Wow that's strange! Does that mean if you go to Chozodia to get that PB early (the one near the bottom of its room, underneath several morph ball passages, is the one I'm thinking of), and then back to Norfair, that the chozo statue behind the speed blocks above the lava no longer has a PB in it?
The Power Bomb in Tourian is still there even if Mother Brain is killed
Oh yeah, that rings a bell now. I think(?) those were the first PBs I got when playing through, after Tourian explod. Thanks for the info! This hack has been real fun to play/watch TASes.

Yes, it's empty then :D Here is a movie that explains how to acquire Power Bomb in Chozodia first!

Due to new optimized routes, I have to re-run after cleaning Norfair, damn...

Yeah, the normal sequence is to kill Kraid and Ridley, go to Tourian, defeat Mother Brain, go back into Tourian, retrace back to the entrance, get powerbombs (and curse the lack of X-Ray), and then continue on from there.

No, that one is still there. The PB in Tourian vanishes. You can either get the PB from Chozodia or the one from Tourian, never both. The one in Norfair is unrelated, you need to pick it up either way. Killing Mother Brain doesn't change anything about PBs, it'll only move the XRay.

Really?! Oh I thought Power Bomb in Chozodia and Norfair are related :P (have not checked anything XD)

Yes, really. On my playthrough, I got the chozodia pack and later the one in Norfair, but none in Tourian. I was going for 100% items without alerting the pirates, but that doesn't seem to be possible :(

I don't know yet :P I'm still stuck in Kraid's lair, a bit lazy to TAS :P although I have a clear route in my mind!

That makes a bit more sense to me. I should probably play through a second time to figure out exactly how the game ticks for this. I seem to remember that those Chozodia PBs were there, but then disappeared (similar to zero mission except some enemy wasn't carrying them off in plain sight fffuuuuu). Do you have to get to those without tripping the ship alarm by chance? Or maybe I saw them at first before blowing up Tourian, and then later saw them missing after I had already gotten the Tourian PBs, not realizing the link between the 2 items.

Those two PBs are the same item. As soon as you pick up one of them, both disappear. You can only get the Chozodia PBs if you reach them without tripping the alarms. If you do get them, you need to exit through Chozodia - painful without gravity, but not impossible. If, on the other hand, you go kill MB without grabbing the chozo PBs, you must pick up the Tourian PBs to exit Tourian. Once you do, the PBs from Chozodia are gone. If you're sneaky and get the PBs from Norfair, you've broken the sequence (although the hack's author clearly intended you to), and you can still choose whether to get the Chozodia or Tourian PBs for your 100% collection. With early PBs, you might even find a way to get the Chozodia PBs without going through the obstacle course, but Tourian PBs are still faster to get. If you want, you could even get the Norfair PBs, kill mother brain, skip the Tourian PBs, then grab the ones in Chozodia.
