i know the basics of making a tas, i just need to know how to continue after taking a break im making a tas on goldeneye

Save a state just before quitting the emulator. Play back the movie after later loading the emulator, make sure "read only" is off, and load the state you saved earlier. Voila, you are now continuing recording. Incidentally, there's already a [movie 1750]fairly high quality GoldenEye run[/movie] on the site, besides which Mupen64 isn't exactly the most reliable emulator; if you are getting started with TASing you may want to start elsewhere.
