I was wondering if anyone would be willing to do a run on this game/series. Its a pretty cool platformer, was my favorite has a kid ( well the 2nd one ) Its pretty well made but has some annoying parts for making videos such has if you fall from too high you die even if you land safely. I find it hard but then again i SUCK @ platform games.. i tried to play it a few days ago and couldnt even beat the 1st stage O_o anyways if anyone is willing to do a run on this game i would definitly love you, and you just know you want that love =]

I have a completed .smv of this game right now. I can put it up, if you want, but there are about 4-10 seconds worth of flaws in it that I want to hex out. I can't bring myself to figure out hexing, though... so I won't submit it. And no, I have no urge at this point in time to redo the whole thing.

I dont really think 4-10 seconds of optimizing will change much for me =D if you would host it or simply email it to me i would appreciate a lot indeed

Here is my old movie. The 4-10 seconds of optimisation is actually blatantly faulty. About halfway through the game or something, I realised that hitting the end yarn ball with almost 0 velocity spawns no yarn balls, which avoids both lag, score tally, and just.... you know, the balls being spawned in general. Uses Bubsy - Claws Encounters of the Furred Kind (U).smc God I hate all of the horrible puns in this game...

I've been working on a Bubsy run lately too ... I'm only up to Chapter 12 yet, but 1:56 faster so far: .smv file Most of the improvement in mine comes from taking better paths, but all the acceleration and many obstacles makes this a hard (but fun) game to make a run of. (edited: updated with Chapter 11 done)

This is a strange game. It has potential for fast running speed, but the poor level design and enemy placement circumvents this. However, I don't see any blatant improvements, so keep up the good work!

I took a look at Bubsy 2 last night ... the controls are different (like much faster acceleration), you can get hit twice before dying (so 3 hits) but enemies take multiple hits too, there's more levels but they're weird, the whole game is pretty weird actually (more than the first) ... but it might still be good for a speed run just because you can move really fast and that's nearly impossible to keep up normally. Anyway, I finished my Bubsy run now and submitted it, total time is 16:32 (2:58 faster than Zurreco's).

Figured it would be better to post here than to make a new topic, as I have no intention of having any longer discussion going on for this. In lack of anything better to do I set out to improve this TAS, as the game though horrible do make for a decent run. So far I have completed the first world and it is ~330 frames faster than the last run. In the two frist stages the improvements (118 frames in total) came mostly from better speed management and avoiding more yarn balls. In the 3rd stage I skipped rolling out the bridge which saved a major part of the remaining 210 frames. Smv here. Tell me what you think, should I go on with this all the way through? Improvement suggestions and information about glitches (if there are any known) are also welcome.

Sounds like I need to hurry up and finish Aegis then. ;) Yeah, I would watch a full run of this, played it as a kid so I'm sure it'd be entertaining Not 100% sure it's going to be that unique a video though.

Not every video you make can be totally unique and awesome, you gotta have some filler too :)
