i have about 100 licensed nintendo versions and 50 "unlicensed" ones, wich were produced in brazil or taiwan. i was wondering if you people ever thought of buying the real thing :)
I had two NES systems, a Game Genie, and over 200 cartridges. However since the consoles stopped working... I found less desire to keep all of it, as I'm not electrically inclined to keep it up-and-running.
I think the collection of obsolete hardware is admirable, but (un)fortunately not for me. :)[/url]

i have like 15 or 20 games for the nes
i'm not so much a collector for games, but i am for consoles, have all the nintendo consoles in working order right here :p
exception are handhelds, only have minigameboy (the smaller version of the first gb). i'm just a poor student yknow :)
I have 25 NES Games, 2 regular controllers, 2 zapper guns, 1 pilot controller (soon to have 2 powerpads), and 2 NES Systems (Old Version and New Version). I only buy the games when they are cheap (Here, they are about 15 US Dollars a game) so I collect N64 games more because they are about 2-7 dollars a game.
I can teach you how to fix your NESes, assuming you have the old standard front-loading kind that break in the way I think yours are broken.
Well i had the "old" ones i guess... as i never saw a new model... and yes they were front loading.. with the flip-top to keep the cartridge entry free of dust.. what a joke.. though the NES is a great console given that it produces ALOT of heat but the components never wore out. Th exception to this is the gold contacts on the games. From what I remember seeing on the carts, those were the main problem. I think the flip top even still worked one one of the two. If i could only find my solstice EEPROM... that's a classic. I kept it in a static bag once the case broke around it. As for the electrical know-how... I'd have to find it again, but it's always nice to be able to fix problems in-house. Thanks. Oh, yea... as for collecting... Solstice is the best game in the world!!! It was the first game i bought myself, so I guess i have an affinity for it.
Find one of the broken NESes and then ask me in the chan and I'll walk you through it. Then one of us can post the method and results here foir curious onlookers.

I still have a working NES and maybe 10 or so games, so in that sense I could qualify as a collector. I don't look for new games or anything like that, though.
I am a cartridge collector
I haven't bought any new games in a while but currently I have about 400 (that is including 23 unlicensed carts and one pirate one). Now that I am into speed runs I am wanting to get new games just to do runs on them :) Little Samson for example, that was one of my favorite NES games before I even knew it had been brought to the US. I want to get a copy to try a speed run on but unfortunately it is somewhat uncommon
