My friend has the real thing, a turbografx 16 and the original CD. Its very rare and i played it :)
Its possible to play it on emulators but the musics are wrongly placed.
never played it on Magic Engine but used the ISO for HuGo (though the screen was messed up a little... it overlapped on the right hand side). and i didnt feel like trying the music either... though the game has some that comes with it... "Poison Mind" and a few others i cant remember.
it was ok... maybe i would have liked it more if i'd have played it back in the day (it feels SO slow at times). and i hope no one tries to bring in the "ethics" argument that was at GameFAQs for so long (dunno if it still is). :)

WAS is the keyword. i left that place a LONG time ago after fully beating it and failed attempts (petitions) for getting the game re-released.
to save you the trouble, the ethics was along the lines of obtaining the files off a site (long since dead i believe, i dont know) and then using an emulator to play it (either via ISO image or by using Nero or something else to burn the files to CD) which was deemed wrong and unethical by some and not by others for various reasons. yada, yada, yada... 100+ worthless posts and a massively redundant flamewar later, people were no further along than when they started.
oh, but I cant even find the game on gamefaqs you know where that might be ?
I checked turbografx 16 platform thread but nothing. It must not exist there

I meant that the music that was supposed to play on level 1 plays on a different level, and the music that was supposed to play on another level plays on level 1. i dont know what levels have thw wrong music, but it sure isnt few of them.
The game is excellent, i'd say its the best straightforward castlevania ever.

A redundant flamewar on GameFAQs? Surely you jest. ^_^
Anyway, that's exactly how I got my copy of the game. I downloaded everything off of a website (still active, last I checked) and burned an ISO onto a CD-R. I don't feel guilty about it since the game is OOP and the system is defunct to boot.
For legal, not ethical reasons I will not publicly disclose the URL of that site, but trust me, if you look for it, you'll find it. They also provide detailed instructions on how to create and burn the ISO file onto disc.

I think I know what url you're talking about and go here [expurgated]
and look at the third reply
EDIT by feitclub: Yup, enjoy. That's where I got my copy. But don't post that URL please.
It's a quote from the US version of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. Ritcher says that to Dracula who is not impressed. Many laugh at the cheesiness of the lines (and the acting), but I dig it. The Japanese audio is floating around the net for anyone who wants it.
