I was playing this game just now and am surprised by the amount of Engrish it holds. I thought I'd take some screenshots and show them to you all. :p Post more Engrish screenshots if you've got any. :)

bit offtopic: The reason for the amount is that when they translated it they had so little amount of free space on the ROM. Thats one of the reasons (my opinion) why it wasnt released. :) (There was even trouble with FF1) sure have fun exploring ! (and hey, its prototype !)

Wow, is that so? So they didn't know how to (or simply technically weren't able to) enlarge the ROM? Only hackers were able to do it years after because emulators don't need to read the ROM header, thus allowing them to muddle with it as much as they wanted? That's really interesting. I guess FF3j was totally out of the question, then.

No, its more of an issue about production costs I guess. If it is 1 byte too big to fit in 128kb of rom, they more or less have to double it (256kb next) that drastically increases cost of production. hackers however didn't suffer that limitation due to the fact they rely on harddisk space.

Yeah, though you'd think that "how long will we be safe" wouldn't take up any more space than "how long will us be safe".

Wow. Even more great Engrish! :P
A hundred years from now, they will gaze upon my work and marvel at my skills but never know my name. And that will be good enough for me.

Fortune wanted to use this ROM for a Final Fantasy 2 run, but I think it would be better to use it for just a practice run, like what Omega's doing.

In that case, Fortune might as well use the fan-translated version as it doesn't have that annoying slow scrolling bug.

Yeah, you're right. It'll probably be more readable, too.
