The lawyers will have a hard time proving it's not Warp performing that over-hundred year old composition…

Making a frivolous DMCA claim is considered perjury by the DMCA. However, I have never heard of anybody suing and winning a big media conglomerate for perjury.

I've got two videos with over 1 hour of duration, but I've never had a length cap, not as far as I know. The only restriction I see on the upload screen is that the videos must be < 20 GB. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hMuQIX6sGeY I'll do one of those 30 hour video upload tests, but isn't there a days long video on Youtube? Isn't it a speedrun of that truck driving simulator worst game ever?

Apparently the cap is around 2-3 hours. Various Mother 3 TAS authors have hit it and the Google Help Forum peeps have also hit it. FODA, if you do make a test, be sure to use frame dropping... seriously.

Upload the MKV. The BoFII MP4 also has the exact same problem uploading to Dailymotion.

So is the limit at least 5 hours or more? What's the file size limit? 2 GB? 20 GB?

The different experiences posted in this thread lead me to think that there is no time limit, only a size limit. (In other words, if the processed video file is larger than some unpublished threshold, it gets rejected.)

2GB when using the HTML uploader, 20GB when using the Java uploader.

I don't know the real reason for sure, but believe that one of copyright owners has complained officially on one of my non-gaming uploads. It was Forbidden Zone film in color. I deleted it once I got his message (it was Richard Elfman) After few days I got what I have now.

Same here >:( There's been loads of topics on the Youtube Community forums of people having the same problem. It seems like it's pretty buggy that you lose your privilege for just deleting old videos.

Apparently you can get it back if you reupload your deleted video when you once had the unlimited upload perk. But in your case it seems like it's a very tough situation.

I own 3 Youtube accounts in total and I tried to upload a 20 minute video about a month ago on the single account that was seemingly uncapped. However, Youtube rejected the video for being too long...

That "Congratulations you can upload......" banner had an X on it to remove it. I did that since I know about it already and my perk got removed... But around that time Youtube had a buggy processor so that 45 minute videos were 1 hour and 33 minutes. I'm not sure if those videos I removed caused to lose my perk :/ Pretty buggy if you ask me. I tried to re-upload those videos that eventually bugs the timer but it seems like they recently fixed it. "New! Animate your own story or create a video slideshow. Try it now " Is on "My videos" page and has an X on it too. So Youtube saying that removing that disables the feature :s

Sometime in late 2010, Google also uncapped me. I've currently uploaded a 42 minute long video. I'll see if my cap is back. Edit: Unfortunately, it is back. In case anyone closed their account or deleted their videos, you'd have to upload enough videos so you'd hopefully be uncapped again. Edit on Tuesday, July 05, 2011 22:56: Wow! Looks like I've been uncapped again after uploading 22 videos.

That's cool. At least it's confirmation that you get it back. But how many videos did you have before getting the limit again and right after the limit was removed?

I closed my account, which apparently brought back the 15-minute-limit curse. Which also means I had no videos at that time. After uploading maybe 22 videos, Google presented me with that blue banner saying I can upload longer videos again. There were a very few videos I've uploaded on YouTube before that I still somehow carry on my external hard drive that I accidentally formatted. I forgot how many videos I had the first time I was uncapped.

I'm still capped, though I have uploaded approxiately 90 videos since I was re-capped in January or February.

I just opened my account earlier this year, but when I went to upload an encode of my latest TAS, there was some text on the upload page that said "Max 15 minutes in length" and a link that said "learn how to upload longer videos". The link led me to that annoying page that keeps popping up every time I log in, the "add a mobile number to your account". I put in my cell phone number and typed in the verification code they texted me, and I was immediately uncapped! I hope this helps some would-be encoder trying to learn how to uncap his accounts.
